Rick wants to win a ring, not rebuild a team.

Les doesn't want to win right now, he wants to get rid of Adelman so we can start competing with Cleveland, Toronto, and Minnesota for good draft picks

I think this decision is in Les Alexander's hand, not Rick Adelman. As far as I can tell, Adelman would return if offered a new contract.

I hear it's because he's sick of the high offense no defense approach.

He's interested in bringing in a hardnosed defensive minded coach which will slow it down and really push defensive fundamentals......

A coach who isn't afraid of tanking is a coach who isn't afraid of losing his job.

Why are every single one of your threads just pro-Adelman threads? I knew exactly what this was going to be about before I even clicked it lol...

But ya, Adelman should be re-signed.

Because he's jealous that Adelman's name shows up first in the organization's phonebook list. It's the same reason why he got rid of Battier, Brooks, and Carroll because they're sneaking up on him. Bud needs to watch his back and Yao will be a Rocket forever!

Maybe they are just staying consistent with the "no contract extensions during the season" principle that Les has institutionalized in the Rockets organization.

-It's worked so far with players and coaches alike.

-My guess is whether he wants to bring back Adelman or not, its in the best interest of Rick to wait till the end of the season anyways. I know there is alot of uncertainty, but as a coach do you not want to have a clear understanding of who your going to be coaching, who the team is looking to draft, and have some time after the season with your family to evaluate whats best for you first and foremost?

If RICK decides Houston is where he wants to be, he can make his case to Les when they meet, and both sides can agree on a price. Thats how these things should be. He needs to know what he is signing up for first, and finish the year out on a positive note.

    Simple as that.

Les measures success in terms of dollar$.

All jerseys at the toyota center ard 50 percent off, so that means nobody is safe, even Pia Toscano.

    NO! Don't jinx the man!

Remember when TMac said - Jeff Van Gundy is the best coach I've ever had. (or something along those lines)

.... and that summer.. BAM! Got fired!

    Adelman wants to continue coaching

Though Rick Adelman says he hasn't had talks with owner Leslie Alexander about coaching the Rockets next season, he did offer his strongest indication yet he'd like to continue in his profession.

"I don't think I've lost the desire to coach. I think I still can do it," Adelman said. "This team has been a lot of fun. It's been tough during the season. When you go through it, it's not that easy. When you're working with a group of guys that won't quit and play above and beyond what people expect them to do, it's a lot of fun when you look back on it.

"You have to evaluate everything when it's all said and done and you have a chance to talk about it. When it's over, you can get some finality about it." [/rquoter]
