He shows flashes of Ginobli-est potential, and he adapted some moves from Steve Nash (such as keeping your dribble alive till you know what to do with it). In his first start for the Rockets he had a pretty impressive stat line. He has great size, underrated athletism and seems like a tenacious defender. He doesn't let his opponents get in his head (in fact he gets in their heads) <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Q_em1To4X8s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fecU0a8gBt0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7MK5c2QdjvU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
He could be a solid starter at best. That's his ceiling. Lowry will be better than him if he keeps shooting solid.
I love that he has at least some size and is tenacious at attacking the basket and not being intimidated. I HOPE him and Lowry can be a really effective 1-2 punch, or a two-headed monster at PG, where the team doesn't really miss-a-beat or undergo a huge style transition when one subs in for the other. Dragic is a huge improvement over Aaron Brooks. I couldn't believe Morey pulled that one off. (I'm not a huge fan of Morey, but this was one of his best trades.) Like Lowry, Dragic actually is a point guard ... and he has size and poise. Lowry and Dragic both push the ball, but they have complimentary skillsets for changing the pace of games.
Rubio is widely considered to be one of the worst point guards in the Euroleague. Dragic is already much better than Rubio. Rubio is a BAD Euroleague player.
I'm almost certain you didn't watch last nights game. Like Lowry, Dragic can affect the game positively when his shot isn't falling. We can't say the same thing about AB. 5-13 last night but had 10 boards, 7 assists, 1 turnover, 2 steals, 1 block. DM got a steal once again. A first rounder is just icing on the cake..just wish it was earlier in the season.
The guy is only 24, PGs can play until they are in their mid 30s. If his minutes increase, his numbers will improve. His three point shot has improved this season, he attacks the basket well. Personally I think we are set at the PG position for years to come.
i loved his move last night where he took the ball to the rim on jamario moon and drew the defensive foul. dragic had the ball on a 1 on 3 break (if i remember correctly)... typically id be mad if somebody takes it one on three but he had an opening and he burst through to draw the foul. just impressive... and pretty fearless. he took a good shot on the play too. i love the tenacity. im sure playing against lowry in practice has a little something to do with that.
Anyone who has beef w/ Vujacic is a boy of mine. I really wish someone would pull a Rudy T on "the machine" and deck him in the face.
