I like how you reference the subjective aspects of the game b/c you know that Lebron and Wade have almost identical statistics which would hurt your argument.
defense is not a statistic. having one guy plays 4 positions on both ends of the court is not a statistic. what spoelstra has asked lebron to do is more than what he asks of wade to do. i assume you haven't watched enough of the heat to know that. but we can also get into statistic, where lebron basically is superior to wade in every category but steals.
does kobe have the most minutes in his team? what's james FG% in the last 2 minutes of games where scores 5 pts or less differential?
In 37 minutes, Wade averages 26 pts (50% fg; 31% 3pt%), 7 rpg, 5 apg, 2 spg, 1 bpg, and 3 turnovers per game. In 39 minutes, Lebron averages 27 pts (51%fg; 33% 3pt%), 8 rpg, 7 apg, 2 spg, 1 bpg, and 4 turnovers per game. And you believe that James is the undisputed leader of the Heat, a legit top 3-4 mvp candidate, and Wade isnt? Seriously?
if a big game, kobe will have the most minutes. he's been coming back from an injury for most of the year. james fg% in your situation isn't very good (i'm guessing), but stats have been thrown around where it is higher than dwayne wade. both lebron and wade have underperformed in the clutch this year, which is very surprising. where have you been all year? wade hasn't cracked ANYBODY's top 5 MVP lists this year at any point. and FYI: wade himself said lebron is the MVP at the all-star break.
so that's how you define undisputed? who is more agressive and fearless slashing and going into the rim ala Rose?
The one who doesn't have a jump shot at all, Wade. I don't know why you're even arguing this. t_mac1 already won this argument by citing the most important opinion of all on this subject. Wade himself said it's Lebron's team and Lebron was his pick for MVP.
how does agressiveness and fearlessness slashing and going to the rim define leader? what are you trying to prove? i define undisputed leader by WATCHING the games and seeing which player has more responsibilities on that team and who the coach values more. i've watched every heat game and i can tell you these things: 1) when the game is close, lebron is NOT coming out of the game or will come back in whether his rest is short or not. wade WILL get his rest. i've watched many games where early in the 4th quarter, lebron should get his customary rest until the 7 minute mark at least. but if the game is close, he'll come right back in or won't even rest. with wade, he gets his customary rests at the end of the 3rd quarter for 3-4 minutes. he will get that regardless. this tells you how much a coach values a particular player. to me, spo feels lebron is more indispensable. 2) the defensive and offensive responsibilities of both players. lebron has more. he plays 4 positions and plays them A LOT on both ends. wade's role is more defined. and yet lebron has been more efficient by having more responsibility 3) touches in the clutch. matchups usually determine who gets touches, but the best perimeter defender is ALWAYS on lebron. and if you check the stats, lebron has had more touches in the clutch. nevertheless, like i said, both him and wade have underperformed in the clutch for some reason.
Google "race to the mvp". Click on the VERY FIRST hit. It happens to be week 11. It has the top 5 as Amare, Rose, Lebron, Wade, and Dirk. Very first hit. #1. It took me about 5 seconds to prove you wrong. Going forward, you really should check your stats before posting. Especially if you're going to be so arrogant about it. There's nothing worse than being arrogant and ignorant.
Kobe said he was Shaq's sidekick. And then he ran Shaq out of town so he could be the undisputed leader of the Lakers. Just b/c a player says something doesn't mean he actually believes it. Wade wouldn't be the first player to pander to the media.
um yes he does. this topic has been brought up before. from 10-15ft, 45% 16-23ft, 44% now compare that to kobe bryant, who's the standard 10-15ft, 51% 16-23ft, 32%
kobe has stated many times he was the sidekick, even after kicking shaq out. he may have not liked that and wanted his own team and that was why he ran shaq out. but he knew he was the sidekick and admitted it. wade knows this team is lebron's. during the all-star break, both were asked who was the MVP of the L. lebron said himself, and wade said lebron. there's your answer.
what do dwade's numbers look? btw, who was the UNDISPUTED leader of the heat in this very important game? <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1f57fLsRLIw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
you do know odom has the best game sometimes out of all the lakers too you know. that does not make him the undisputed leader of the lakers. that just means wade is a damn great 2nd option, the best one in the L. wade 10-15ft - 39% 16-23ft - 32% but that is not a problem since he takes around 66% of his shots from within 9ft. lebron has had to become more perimeter-oriented in order to facilitate both of their styles.
If Kobe really felt he was the sidekick, he wouldn't have ousted Shaq. It's more likely that after Lebron answered himself, Wade felt obligated to also answer "Lebron". After all, they're teammates, and it would be foolish of Wade to publicly disrespect Lebron by saying another player was MVP, especially himself.
