    Hi everybody! (...hi dr. nick...)

So, we're planning a move to north Houston from Pearland and I was looking at rental houses in the Spring area. I've taken a drive through stretches of Louetta and Cypresswood to get an idea of the (strip mall) : (residential neighborhood) ratio and general feel for the town. From experience, are there any places to avoid and other places that would be desireable to live in for this part of town? I've heard that FM 1960 should be avoided as should parts closer to Bush airport.

A little farther north off of Spring Stuebner/2920 has some nicer areas (at least they used to). As always, depends on what you want to spend. Even a little farther gets you The Woodlands.

I grew up in Enchanted Oaks. (West side of 45 across from Spring HS)

You basically want to live between Cypresswood & Spring Steubner, 45 & Veterans Memorial/Stuebner Airline.

Klein Schools are very competitive, as are little league sports in the area.

Also, not sure of your budget so take this advice accordingly.

Dove Meadows, Cypressdale, & Bridgestone/Bridgestone West are generally ****holes.

I remember when they were relatively nice. I lived in Forrest North in the early 80's.

I grew up, and still live in the Louetta-Stuebner Airline area. Memorial Northwest, Spring Creek Forest, Spring Creek Oaks, and Champions Forest are all incredibly nice neighborhoods, along with the surrounding areas. Klein schools aren't quite as good as when I attended (graduated from Klein in 2001), but they are still overall quite good. If you move a little further north, you can get into Klein Oak and Klein Collins territory which seems to be where the better teachers are going nowadays.
