They had a different teaching style back then. In this day and age we don't care to learn why; we only need learn how.
Ah, I remember this type of question back in elementary and whenever I didn't know the meaning, I'd just say: I don't know the meaning of _________.

I actually feel like I could pass that test. I wouldn't necessarily get a perfect score, but I could answer enough that I would pass.
