Just built a new house and my new address isn’t recognized by Amazon yet (or any other retailer for that matter), so after reading through that UPS thread last week, I decided to have a package delivered to my office instead of my home. The 2 items were sent separately from 2 retailers via Amazon. I got the first one on Monday with no problems. Guy brought it right to my desk and had me sign for it. The 2nd package shows it was delivered yesterday but I never received it and certainly never signed for it. I called the mailroom and they said they had record of the 1st package but not the 2nd package. It was a PS3 game, so I can’t help but think someone else signed for it and just kept it. Retailer says they shipped it, so it’s out of their hands and to deal with the PS. Just filed a complaint with the USPS online and didn’t even get an email confirmation, which pretty much tells me how it’s going to go. Anything else I can do?
If it was sent to a place that had no actual post office box, the USPS will take it back and hold it at the nearest shipping center for a while, IIRC. Edit: unless it was a "signature required/delivery confirmation" item, it can say it was delivered via tracking without actually having been given to a person or signed for. This happened to me one time. I sent a guy something via USPS to an office, the office didn't have a P.O. box/place to deliver the mail, so the USPS guy brought my package back to the nearest post office and put it in the undeliverable box where the guy I sent it to later claimed it.
There should be a record of who signed for it. I would start there. I know that FedEx usually shows this on their online tracking system.
You'll be fine. They'll buy a replacement at worst. If you purchased from a big retailer (through Amazon), that retailer would just send you the replacement ASAP and handle UPS.
Look for the mailman next time and ask them about it...one time i had the same thing happen and it took another 2 days for it to be delivered. Sometimes they lose the package within their vehicle or even at the post office and just write it off as delivered to "finish" their route/deliveries.
it's amazon. they are exceptional when it comes to customer service. if you tell them you didn't get your package, they'll ship you another copy the next day. i ordered a razor scooter and UPS says it was delivered. i never got it and even checked with my neighbors. called Amazon, they said no problem, we'll send another one.
Good to know. Just called them and they said I have to wait until I'm out of the delivery range dates 4/7 - 4/15 before they can do anything, even if it says it was delivered. Guess I'll give the post office a few more days to get their **** straight (famous last words).
