    Hey guys,

Looking to move to the heights area, and would like suggestions.

I am looking for a one bedroom, and wanting to pay about 1,000 a month. Could pay a little more if I really like the place.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just moved into the Retreat at City Park and I love it. I pay a little over 900 a month. You could find a large 1 bedroom there for 1000.

Garage apartment via chronicle classifieds. Some of them in the Heights are nicer than a regular apartments.

Get that apartment complex near YMCA. you'll get free access to their outdoor tennis court, park and vollley and basketball court. and it's close to the supermarket and highway.

Put lots of lines out. Find an apartment locator- they will do the homework for you. The apartment complexes pay them, so it's a free service to you.

Yeah, but typically if you do that, you forfeit any concessions/specials that would've otherwise been yours.

Not true at all. At least, it wasn't that way when I was a locator 10 years ago.

Screw everyone that lives in the Heights now. The remodeling forced everyone I grew up with out of the neighborhood. The ghetto I grew up in is gone! [/halfjoke]

Happened to me last time I moved.

My $250 concession went straight to my locator instead of me.

Saw some awesome 2bd townhomes as low as 1200, they were seriously nice. Might want to at least consider going that route.

Don't worry, it's still there. Just not as much. I live in a new house off 13th street and Durham. There is a house right down the street from me that has "Don't Steal My ****!" painted on his front door. Now that my friend is hood life. :)
