Jalapeno Ranch sauce and chips!!

 

People hate on Chuy's way too much.

Sure, it's extremely cheesy looking with the obsessive Elvis-related decor, and may not be authentic Tex-Mex, but those fajitas (and jalapeno ranch dip) are delicious.

 

It's good food.

 

Get the Compuesto, make sure to get the creamy jalapeno ranch dip for starters, and try the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom... or at least have them put the Boom Boom sauce on whatever else you try, if it comes with sauce, maybe get it on the side.. that stuff is gooooood....

 

I like Chuy's. Is it the best food? No. But it's very good food at a good price.

 

I thought it was crap, especially for the prices. Sometimes they caim to be Tex-mex, sometimes Mexican. You can get better mexican food for half the price and better Tex-mex for the same price.

But like everything else, there will always be some people that like it, maybe even love it.

 

I used to friggin' get wood for Chuy's, that is until I got food poisoning there. Now if I even see the place I feel as if a river wants to exit my butt.

 

Screw the haters, Chuy's is outstanding and cheap.

As Nero said, the Boom Boom sauce is great. They also have a few dishes with hatch green chiles which are pretty good. If you're going for quantity, get the Elvis Combo - comes with 3 different enchiladas, a crispy taco, and a tostada chips topped with queso. Margaritas are solid too.

I'm not sure of the Tex-Mex options in Tyler, but I bet Chuy's will do well there. It would make a killing out here in Nor Cal, where Tex Mex is non-existent.

 

Its good food. But exactly how difficult is it to make good Tex-Mex?

I love Tex-Mex, but its the easiest, no imagination needed type of cuisine.

 

They are building one in Katy now as well. Mason and I-10 i believe.

Honestly, Chuy's food does kind of suck (for the price).

The saving grace is the jalapeno sauce, which I could put on a turd and gladly eat it.

I'm usually drunk when I go to Chuy's, which also helps.

 

What's wrong with the price? It's dirt cheap. Full entrees for under $10.

 

I just don't get it. It's clear their food has either been made over a day ago or comes in a can. If you served this in a building that wasn't as big or flashy on a different side of town it would never make it.

 

I guess the food I typically go for isn't the 8.99 and under stuff.

Also probably has something to do with being drunk.
