I'm a pub, but didn't care for Beck.... lol some of his radio shows he would just start crying, saying how much he loved america LOL
Beck is a crazed moron, Ann Coulter is probably a liberal sabetour, and Limbaugh and Savage are assholes, but Glenn Beck is just out of his mind, he shouldn't even have a show.
I suspect it may be a market built for a short-to-intermediate marketing horizon, like pop-music bands. Commentators will become fashionable for awhile and then get old, only to be replaced by a fresher copy of the same formula. Fox should groom up a replacement and get some more folks in the pipeline for when the next sensation fades.
I got the feeling that most of what Beck did was an act and he probably himself didn't fully believe most of it. I suspect that Beck is politically conservative but a lot of what he spouted off just seemed so far fetched that I think it was an act rhetorically along the lines of fights in pro-wrestling.
More like Fox News is going MAINSTREAM and abandoning the truth THEY don't want you to see. ::spits::
So after an election when a conservative won that was already in office, the ratings dipped, and you think this indicates that ratings dip when conservatives are in office? I think the last part is more on the right track. When people are happy or disinterested in politics they aren't listening to talk shows. When they have reason to be engaged they are. After the 04 election there was a lot of burnout on the right.
I really enjoyed a lot of Becks historical pieces, but then he would go off the deep end the next day and go on for a week rant. I just watched a small segment from him a couple days ago and he seemed to be more theatrical than ever. I think both Fox and Beck knows its time to part ways. Its suggested Judge Napolitano might take his place from Fox Business. I enjoyed his pieces back when he first started web episodes a couple years back, but his new daily show is filled with theatrics like any of these other talk show hosts. I personally think he's a great fit as he has more libertarian views as opposed to conservative. He's basically Ron Paul as a commentator.
And there may be even more cash in producing or development, although maybe not so much at a news station. Maybe Sarah's getting a show. Oprah's going off the air, she and Ellen could split the white woman demo. Maybe Beck is running for President, the cheapest nationally broadcast political talk show there is.
Van Jones "The Commie b*stard" had to resign when Beck exposed him. Beck's time slot with Fox is terrible, if his show airs on primetime, I think he would have done much better!
