Just got my truck out of the body shop after several months from being hit by a drunk driver. Today I noticed that my Texas Registration Sticker is expired, but I have no idea where the letter is that usually comes in the mail. How should I proceed about getting my sticker renewed? Guess my chances at doing it online are shot? Probably looking to do some time in the dreaded Court House line?
the courthouse downtown actually isn't that bad especially if you go a couple of hours after lunch time. just lisence and insurance
Lulz, I just searched for this on Yahoo this morning since I'm in the same boat. Of course, Clutchfans strikes again on the interwebs search. Started by yourself too. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=184986
You'll actually want to go to the tax office to handle this in person. I believe you'll be able to pay less since the vehicle was out of commission...or at least not get penalized by having to pay for a full year from the time it actually expired. Might call ahead and see if they need something to prove it.
I work right down the road from the Pasadena Courthouse. Can you get a registration sticker there, also without the paper work they send you in the mail?
You have to go to the courthouse... I had to do it at the end of last year. It took 15 minutes, and cost me around $70.
LOL! Gummi, you started the same thread last year and you can't remember what you did? Or did you just never get it renewed and you have a registration sticker that expired over a year ago?
^ Maybe he never did it... because he was just scared to have someone take him to jail... for procrastinating. Don't forget your insurance card when you visit the courthouse/tax office, SeƱor Gummi.
So do I, work location that is... Small world. I think you need to go to a county courthouse, but I may be wrong.
It's a good thing I thought about that ahead of time. Got it in March... was set to expire this month. Also, had to do that because I'm in Arizona right now.
i did it at the tax office in sugar land yesterday. short line (3 or 4 people) but they still make you pay for a year from the time it expired and charge you fees (i got a ticket for it and used a credit card)
Went to the office on Preston downtown to get a Registration sticker renew. Set aside 2 hours for the line and parking. Pulled up to the front door - got metered parking. Walked inside and....... NO LINE. I was the only one there, in and out in 5 minutes.
Isn't efficient government great? Enjoy it while you, with the upcoming budget cuts plus impending shut down, the lines will be back. /D&D comment.
What time did you arrive? I'm off Friday and wanted to go there before our inspector and appraiser show up to look at our (hopefully) new house.
Right about 2:15 pm. I was amazed because yesterday I went to the one on Wayside thinking it would be quicker then the downtown one - the line was out the freaking door.
