Can someone explain to me the basics of P90x, I know absolutely nothing about this, but I want to get in shape. This is just videos right to show you how to get fit without much equipment? Can the videos be found in torrents?
You don't need too much equipment just dumbbells and a pull up bar or bands. as for the torrent you can download it right here: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/594...out.Series.COMPLETE_PACK.DVDrip.Xvid(no_RARs)
I just got "done" doing the Ab Ripper workout. Oh man!!! I could barely do any of the eleven (?).. This is the first time I could feel my core being worked out... like at the pelvis area.. man it kind of feels good and it makes me walk better a little bit. Most of the sit ups and stretching I could barely do.. I feel so out of shape.
Question: Before I download Yoga X, I want to know what it works out? What is its purpose or targeted areas? How many programs are there anyway? I only have Ab Ripper X.
Congrats, finals. Keep it up! I am still trying to figure out what to do. I injured my hamstring during x-stretch and had to take a month off from doing anything which involved legs. Basically, each week I did either Chest & Back plus Shoulders & Arms or Back & Biceps plus Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, and then did Ab-Ripper every other day, and also some bench press/arm curl exercises mixed in once per week. As a result, I have maintained (and even improved) my strength, but my cardio has gone to crap. Now that I'm healthy enough to do all the videos again, I'm wondering if I should re-enter the program at the point I left off (entering second recovery week) or just start it over at the beginning.
Keep it up. I know at first it seems like the most god awful terrible thing in the world but over time it gets much easier. First time I did it, I think I made it through 3 minutes before I was crying uncle. I couldn't even try the VF rollups or the scissors (still can't do em very well). I started doing a lot of cardio (4-5) a week and finished every other day with ab ripper. It started getting easier. Another important thing is to do other workouts that utilize the core muscles in different ways. I started doing a lot of pull-ups and that helped push me past a plateau. Pull-ups utilize the core for stability. I don't have a great six pack right now or anything but I'm back down to a 30 waist and can pretty much do 300+ out of the 339 reps in Ab Ripper X every other day. It took me about 3 months from the first day I did Ab Ripper X to get here. Keys to success: have a buddy doing Ab Ripper with you early on to push you. Really try to do it every other day. Mix in other core workouts/ workouts that use the core as stabilizers (I do pull-ups); on the same note remember to workout other parts of the core: lats/lower back/obliques. ABX is really abdominal-heavy but lower back/oblique-lite. Keep it up and good luck!
Congrats finalsbound. What makes you think you've hit a plateau? Are you already getting tired of phase 2?
Not at all. I meant that I plateau during the third circuit of plyo every time I try that workout. I am stuck there, those jumps just steamroll me and I'm usually clutching my knees, sucking air and wincing in pain between the exercises. The last group of moves is crazy taxing too, but by that time I'm usually modifying so much that I haven't experienced the full brunt of it, I don't think. I haven't made any progress over the last 4-5 weeks in my ability to do more and finish strong. Next week I'm going to take it easy with the jump-knee-tucks at the beginning of the 3rd. I think that may be part of the reason I feel like I wanna die...I try to keep up with their "double speed" version in the last 10 seconds. Made me super dizzy today. I'm figuring out how to space out my energy more.
An old friend of mine posted before and after pics of himself after completing one training regiment -- the results were impressive. He wasn't really overweight, but soft -- he dropped 21 lbs and is now cut. Pretty impressive for 90 days worth of work. He also said he didn't really follow the diet part much at all.
I was 263 pounds of beer and fast food with a bum knee and I completed it. Did two 90 days cycles in 2010 and lost 41 lbs. If I can do it, anyone can.
Crap! I injured my right elbow. Yesterday was my first day on "Chest Shoulders Triceps" video (week 4). I think the Side-To-Side Pushups and Plyo Pushups seem to be the cause of the injury. Not a good start to phase 2 .
I don't have the traditional flex & pose before and after picture, but here is what I got: Spoiler The picture on the left was the last tailgate of the 2009 Texans season (December of 2009). The picture on the right is at the Shiner brewery in April of 2010 (about a week after completing P90x). I'm 6'1" and weighed 263 the first day. I weighed in at 222 after the 90th day. Like I said before, if I can do it anyone can. And I still ate pretty bad the whole time. If I'd of eaten like I do now, I'd of probably lost another 10 or so at least.
That sucks, man, but don't give up! Definitely stay off the elbow, but keep doing everything that doesn't involve it. You may have to scale back the upper body routines, but you should still be okay for plyo, kenpo, ab-ripper, and most of cardio/core-synergistics. Use the opportunity to really kick your cardio up a few notches! In all the P90x videos, there are only two moves that I don't even bother to try. One is the Yoga Crane pose, and the other is the one-armed push ups. Both of those put serious stress on the elbows. Gotta be careful.
Wow, you look great. Hard to believe it's only a span of four months. How have you changed your eating habits since you finished? I don't follow the diet guidelines in the program either, but I do try to eat relatively healthy (no fast food) and focus on protein/carb intake and smaller portions. I have accepted that I never want to be one of those people who write down what they eat everyday. I just want to learn to eat whole foods, listen to my body, and stop when I'm satisfied. Pretty sure those are the only diet guidelines you need.
