If he's still on the board, 6'8'' defensive menace Chris Singleton seems like a no-brainer with the 2nd first-rounder, IMO.
I have to disagree. People want to point at his size as reason that he won't be effective, but his a taller than what he seem's. As proven by his past measurements(measuring 6'1 w/shoes). He also has the ability to create space at a whim, I mean his step back alone is deadly. Has amazing lateral quickness, and is an outstanding defender for someone his size. He truly reminds me of Allen Iverson. But with that said, I also wouldn't mind drafting Brandon Knight at our pick. I like his size at the point, and I also like his jump shot. Which is already way ahead of that of John Wall and Derrick Rose, when they we're at the same point in their career. However I don't think his as athletic as those guys though.
He's not even in the same neighborhood as Wall and Rose in terms of athleticism, and unfortunately, you can't spend a summer developing a 40 inch vertical or an explosive first step... but, a jumper can be added to a player's arsenal over time (Lowry & Rose come to mind). But, Knight > Kemba, IMHO. He'll be a game-changer at the next level, in the Jrue Holiday mold.
I doubt he lasts past Charlotte at #10-11. Jordan apparently loves him, and you know how lazy he is with his draft process. Big college talent = easy draft pick. If Kemba was there at #14, I'd strongly consider taking him. He'd be a nice replacement for Brooks.
I think Terrence Jones out of Kentucky is going to be a great pro eventually, and will be a solid player immediately. First, he's a 3/4, but he's not a tweener -- he has the speed, outside shooting and perimeter defense to play the three as well as the strength, rebounding and shot-blocking ability to play the 4. When he first comes in the league he's going to have a solid outside shot and be a good team defender. Then, from having those skills to get him on the court, he can develop an offensive game and catch up to the level of one on one defense in the pros. So, his floor is not too low and his combination of size, speed and skill gives him the potential to be a great player. Despite the current projections I think Jones will be off the board by the time Houston picks, but he is someone I hope Morey trades up to get.
Houston is definitely going to try hard to trade up. I don't see Jones as a star player as he isn't aggressive enough offensively, but I do love the additional possessions he helps generate.
i wanna draft Justin Harper, 6'10 with ability make shots outside the arc and good low post technique. but he has to gain some weight, i think he would be a great replacement over Jordan Hill.
Nikola Mirotic has been tearing up the Euroleague lately at 20 years old by stats and by wins. That seems very impressive for the age.
We could easily get Harper with that 2nd round pick. I was kinda hoping that Noguiera would be our Hill replacement. Although, i think Hill will be a better player come next season.
For those who mentioned T Jones.....I do like what I saw of him in the tournament....but his free throw shooting in the loss to UConn was abysmal.....I'm not sure that he even made one of them. Other than that I thought he looked good and I guess its something that can be worked upon, but it struck as me as really strange given he looked to be a good outside shooter.
Sucks for the Cavs, not for us since we wouldn't have gotten him anyways. But if he goes back to school this draft will be one of the worst ever. Since we are drafting 14th in a weak draft like I said before, swing for the fence and draft the big man from Brazil.
Terrence Jones and Chris Singleton fit the profile. Lucas Nogueira (Is he for sure able to be drafted?) and Enes Kanter would be the most exciting acquisitions, in my opinion. Enes Kanter even better because we would get him immediately. (Wouldn't it be crazy If Daryl selected somone like Jeremy Tyler or Renardo Sidney?)
Agree -- swing for the fence and draft the big man -- from Lithuania -- Jonas Valenciunas. We can get the Noc with the Phoenix pick about #25 or so ... unless we have to trade that pick and #14 to move up a few spots to get the big guy.

Is he worth the #23 pick though?
