Congratulations to the A-Train, an honor well deserved. This has been long overdue. A defensive stalwart and excellent interior scorer, and a very long and productive career.

I remember Artis from his ABA days with the Kentucky Colonels. He was rough on my Pacers. I also remember Jacksonville State losing in the NCAA championship game way back to UCLA.

When Artis got the ball close to the basket, it was over.

For those interested, Sabonis and Chris Mullin have also been inducted.

Chris Mullin over Reggie Miller is surprising.

Chris Mullin was the better player initially. I think he gets "Original Dream Team" member credit. Reggie Miller got him on longetivity and popularity. They probably didnt want to make him a "1st ballot" guy since Mullin wasnt.

You might be thinking of someone else :)

I was very surprised to see Sabonis on it. He was well pass his peak when he came to the NBA. Mullin is a borderline selection,IMO. I liked him as a player, but I don't think he should be in the HOF.

I'm guessing he was inducted thanks to his international career, before his legs gave out. He did win a gold medal and dominated David Robinson in the 1988 olympics.

Probably because it's the basketball hall of fame and they consider the person's entire career, not just the NBA career.

'Nique got in his second year on the ballot, this was Mullin's fifth.

A-Train was a great player. He would probably be the best center in the nba today. He looked like he was ready for anything too, lol.
