Have some of you seen how wild animals kill other animals? Makes the slaughterhouse look tame by comparison

They do that in a few of the Asian markets I've been to around here in Dallas. Well, with fish, anyway. :)

I thought everyone has. I've actually done it myself ( had to wring some chicken heads off), so I thought most people had at least watched it for some reason.

I have worked with cadavers and that didn't bother me. Seen animals killed on TV. I don't see why someone would get disgusted. Sure it ain't pretty but that's life.

I used to work in a chicken processing plant, so yes, I have seen many chickens get slaughtered and have contributed to the process.

Overall, I found the killing process to be very humane. They get hung by their feet on a processing line and almost immediately go through an electric bath, which completely stuns them before they get their throats cut.

The only really cruel part, from what I have witnessed, is the way the birds are transported from farm to factory (stuffed in plastic crates).

I've seen cows, goats, chicken, and different types of fish getting slaughtered. Didn't bother me much. I think the thought of becoming a vegetarian is 100x worse than watching animals get slaughtered tbh. My ex was one and going out with her was a horror.

The only thing that bothered me a bit was watching lobsters and eels get boiled alive.

 Yes. I have. I have seen a few animals killed for food, but not at a slaughterhouse.

    *GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS*

I've seen a pig get slaughtered for a big party down in Mexico, down to the cuttin' of every part to get eaten. If an experienced butcher does it right, and cleans every part for the party to consume, it can be extremely delicious. The dude found the heart, put the knife right on the outside, pushed the tip in, and the pig squealed for a few seconds, then everything stopped moving. The skinning, cutting, cleaning, etc., is an after thought when you think about how many people will enjoy the food.

When I was a bit older, we had a lady come over to the house and "do" a chicken by just swinging around by its neck. The animal had its life ended swiftly. We enjoyed it later when we took it over to my grandmother's house and she cleaned it. Twisted chicken neck tastes scrumptious.

At about 14 or 15, I went to a friend's house because his older sister was going to have a sweet sixteen party at a big hall. Outside their house, a man had just brought a deer that was going to be for the party. I thought only Mexicans did the "killing an animal for a party" thing, but I guess this family up here did too? *caucasians?? Yes. The man hung the deer by its hind legs, cut the throat, and let the blood come out. That was the first time I enjoyed sweet venison meat.

I've seen plenty of animals get killed when I was a kid - but shooting a deer and processing it by myself as an adult was a little different. On the whole, I'd much rather kill a pig than a deer - there's more meat on a pig and I like the taste better. Deer are prettier too.

The thing is, we are healthier if we eat meat - especially if you eat a more caveman-style diet. I think it's good for a man, at least, to have the experience of killing, processing and eating an animal at least once in his life.

I've seen a cow shot in the head and butchered.

Not something that I really want to remember.

I dissected a frog in high school. Tried to put him back together before I threw him away, still alive.

I've slaughtered a bird before, have seen lots of animals get slaughtered. It's not really rare here, but there is a relatively high incidence of Emiratis who are vegetarians just because they've witnessed some animal being slaughtered.

Over here, in my cases, people will have their own farms which they visit on weekends and therefore the kids befriend the animals. Usually when they later find out that one of the animals they were playing with is now sitting on a plate in front of them, they freak out.
