I'm an Aggie, I'm currently enrolled at TAMU, I'm behind the ladies 100%, but today when they played, I watched the Rockets game instead. As much as I support my school, I just can't force myself to watch women's basketball as bad as that sounds lol.
Not a fan of women's basketball. especially when there are other games on that I care more about. I'm cheering them on though. Way to go Ag's! 2 #1's knocked down by The Maroon and White.
Nope. UCONN won 1,000 games in a row and nobody cared. Do women's sports draw a profit? Or do the real sports have to subsidize it?
Even professional (WNBA) is pathetic.. They are forced to wear advertisements on their jerseys because of their struggle with sustainability!
I watched I was at a coffee shop this evening to do some homework, and by the end of the game, the whole place (about 50 people) was huddled around the TV. I'm not a women's hoops fan, but this team has shown tons of heart and intensity in getting to the final. I'll definitely watch on Tuesday night.
Regardless of gender, the game was outstanding. I guess it's a bit better when you're actually rooting for one of the teams. To answer your question... Students, alum, and anyone affiliated with the school will most likely care. Other than that... no.
I also think Sydney Carter is pretty cute http://www.hoopfeed.com/content/wp-content/uploads/carter.jpg
Nah, only a few poultry science majors (the science of peeling an egg), a maroon carrot and some sheep.
I was rooting for the Lady Bears but since Aggie beat them I'm rooting for Aggies. Bring it home to Texas. That said, I won't watch.
I must be one of the very few people that likes to watch NCAA women's basketball. First, my daughter plays AAU and hopes to someday play college ball (and for the Aggies, no less). Second, I can appreciate the scale of basketball they play (perhaps for the same reason I like watching women's and seniors golf... the level of play is way closer to the level I play). Third, some of the teams focus more on passing and fundamentals (eg last year watching and rooting for U Wisconsin at Green Bay was fun because they really worked at moving the ball via the pass). Last, some of the teams would have a player that stood out (eg, Gonzaga had a point that had something like 27 points and 7 assists in one game... and would have had 5 more if her teammates could have converted simple layups). OK, and some of the players are hot...
