agreed. Now if Yao was ever on the court for more than 3 games we could actually make some headway in future seasons. Actually, I have no doubt that if THIS was our squad and mentality from the beginning of the year then we would finish 5-10 games better than we will. I say that as a minumum, even tho we still have our height and athletic disadvantages. We wouldnt have been great, but we'd be in the hunt for the 4/5 spots I bet.
Just wanted to add that Kevin Martin is fool's gold. He can't create his own shot and folds quicker than a lawn chair in the fourth quarter.
I admit I have doubted Martin's ability to play big down the stretch in the 4th,but he has gotten a lot better. What was more impressive tonight was his ability to keep going when we were flat.
cant create his own shot? He may be 4th quarter fools gold most nights, but not creating his own shot is just plain wrong. He's no Wade or anything, but no one ever said he was. The man has a quick first step, gets in for dunks and layups as well as crafty jumpers that go in whether hes fouled or not. Wrong offensive player to pick on, heh.
wow this team wont stop i dont give a **** who you are you aint stoppin this brand new rockets team!! were gonna turn the heat up a little bit more come wednesday!!! sorry paul.....
Also the fact that he only gets 30+ pts every other game despite playing less minutes than most wings is further proof of how much of a fool's gold he really is.
Beginning anything with "It wasn't the Rockets fault" is damn ridiculous. Your initial statement was already placing blame on someone/something other than the Rocket's ability to just get it done. Rockets had enough players to be in the playoffs, even with the injuries. The basketball gods have taken a collective dump on the Portland franchise for a couple years now but you don't see them saying "Oh man, this season wasn't meant to be, wasn't our fault guys!" I'm sorry I hurt your feelings; toughness and accountability come with maturity though, so...
Yeah, but you have to admit that earlier in the season, he was deferring too much to others in the 4th. And there are defenders that he just has difficulty against (Philly, for example). To his credit, he has really turned his game on once RA turned over the scoring chores to him (with AB being shipped out) and he and Kyle got their act in sync.
I'd agree with your statement I think. I wonder if there's something more to it, though? I'm not really that familiar with Kevin prior to his stint here so I don't really know...but I wonder if there were chemistry issues too. He seems to really enjoy being out there most times, to judge from his facial expressions. What I mean is...could he be happier here than elsewhere? Believe in this squad and be giving that extra few percent that perhaps he didn't before? This seems like a fairly selfless team, trying to help each other....perhaps he just thrives in that, which inspires him to keep going.
too bad you cant read. I didnt start it with "I wasn't the Rockets fault" - "I said a lot of it wasnt the Rockets fault." There's a huge difference between a definitive statement and a majority or partial claim of fault. Sorry I didnt have a true percentage of fault to post to ease your need to go out and digitally go on the offensive with another fan for nothing more than a small mis-read of what I actually DID type. I applaud Portland very much, and I dont expect anyone on the "team" to verbally make excuses about injuries, refs, etc, but as a fan I can have my opinion and that subjective opinion isnt that far off. To be fair, considering Portland has only won 3 more games than us I wouldnt say that they've done anything far better than Houston, but perhaps they played harder consistently and thats fine. btw, maturity also means you admit when you're wrong. Now you can practice that accountability thing. You don't need toughness, being a jerk seems to come to you quite easily.
yeh, yeh its true. A couple of other fans got me riled up, so I read this as straightly as I thought it was written. oh well, oops, my fault. here, I'll do this at myself
yeh definitely, I dont know what he was so afraid of. Well, and still is sometimes. He just passes more and doesnt move as much. Glad he showed up against Spurs in OT the other night! ...then again, that wasnt the 4th, ha!
