Great! 0-3 just like last year and we're probably headed for a 0-6 start too!! We could've had a 1-2 record if it wasn't for Brad-on "Lidge" Lyon!

Yesterday, they struck out 14 times and walked none. Carlos Lee was the only one who had a good game. On Friday, they had a decent game but 4 runs isn't great. Starting pitching sucked other than Myers this series. I didn't expect them win this series but the last two games were just bad on both ends in terms of pitching and hitting.

Getting four runs isn't "terrible" either.

It seems the people who make the schedule have it out for the Astros. They set them up to be killed by the Giants to start their World Series run, and now they put them up against Phillies assembled ace staff.

At least they wore the road grays!

Starting the season with the Phillies was going to be a rough going, a little surprised the pitching had so many issues with a banged up Philly club.

Having arguably the best staff ever assembled and 180 million payroll doesn't hurt.

That being said this maybe the worst collection of talent the Astros have ever fielded. At least in my recollection of watching since the early 80s. Still it needs to happen, got to restock the farm. Is there a legit can't miss top prospect for the next draft?

Well it's kind of how like all the blame went to Purpura and none for Hunsicker for the state of the farm system during the last few years. You'll get the blame (or praise) for moves your predecessor has started.

Still not a fan of Ed Wade though.

Hunsicker has had nothing to do with the state of the Astros farm system over the last few season as his last year with the Astros was in 2004. I would say the last year you can credit as being part of Hunsicker's farm was in 2007. But really the major blame would go to Drayton for being cheep spending little money on player development.

RoyO's wearing an Astros cap in the "winning pitcher" picture. Or at least that's what I understood of the joke.

Probably should've written "The Stros' had a winning pitcher today!"
