Great post, and this is something I have noticed as well, this kind of thing seems to happen more frequently after the friday prayers. Coincidence?

    Disgusting.

The man's actions were a direct cause for what happened. I never said he was fully responsible. But he should feel partly responsible. If he had not done what he did, then those UN workers would not have had to face a mob incited by what he had done.

Of course, you obviously think the pastor was correct in what he did and should feel no guilt. Only shows what type of immorality you support.

Because you decided to post this, I am going to kill a bunny.

How does it feel to have bunny blood on your hands?

    BUNNY KILLER.

Did I knowingly make the post with the knowledge that you were going to something asinine and inane? No.

Good job displaying a horrid false analogy to everyone here.

Dude, should it matter to you whether somebody somewhere is threatening to do something asinine and inane? No. Don't let the actions of some lunatics (or terrorists) dictate your life. That's the WHOLE POINT.

Placing blame on someone because they were aware or not (not that it even *matters*) is the biggest fail going on here.

You are taking the responsibility from the actual murders and placing it onto somebody that is using their right to free speech, that is just breathtakingly bad judgment.

    ...

Wanting you to not do something that is IRRESPONSIBLE (although within your rights), is not dictating someone's life. General Petraeus made a statement saying his actions could cause a surge in violence and threaten American/NATO interests in the region. Why do something knowing it threaten national security and/or put other people's lives at risk?
The biggest fail was that r****ded analogy you posting moments ago.
Err no, I am not. Everyone's actions have consequences, regardless if they no them or not. Every person is accountable for their actions, except you don't believe this. You think it is appropriate for other people to pay for the consequences of irresponsible and stupid actions from someone else. And his "free speech" was borderline hate speech and extremely close to sedition. He committed to his actions knowing the high probability of incitement it will have.

Muslim or not, I really can't talk to somebody this deluded.

Feel free to take over for me, if you want.

I think the majority of muslims in this thread are biased. Can you imagine if the United States actually ran a propaganda against the middle east? 24/7 Muhammad parodies and Koran burnings -- they would go insane within a month.

I post this because the US doesn't want to destroy Islam, but rather - we would like for you to police your own.

Are you saying that it's not this way? It is a few in the grand scheme of things.

No one is to blame here except these lunatics. They decipher the religion as they want and use it to brain wash other idiots with nothing going for them in life.

That's fine. Someone who posts stupid, 2nd grade analogies doesn't really deserve a well reasoned response.

It's sad to see so many people here engage in logical fallacies so often.

Free speech is a red herring here.

There's an obvious difference between exercising your free speech (for example, saying a lot of stuff in the koran is ridiculous and silly, which I happen to believe, just like the Bible, book of mormon, etc) like I'm doing right now, and deliberately trying to provoke and offend people. (for example, if I went down to a mosque and tried to annoy everybody by claiming how much the koran sucks).

That's why "fighting words" and/or "hate speech" aren't as legally protected as other kinds of speech. Jones' acts probably fall into these categories.

NOw, with respect to Jones and the killings in Afghanistan - of course he's not LEGALLY responsible for those killings, though his actions are seemingly part of the chain of causation; However, there's enough intervening actors to absolve him of that in the traditional understanding of criminal law.

With respect to the killings, btw, the last few things I read said it wasn't the result of a spotnaneous "angry mob", rather a deliberate Taliban-sponsored operation. In a way, that really makes Jones look worse since he's knowingly letting himself be used as a tool of radical muslim propagandists - for no reason other than his own self-aggrandizement.

Err, they do police their own. Quit making ignorant statements.

The problem is America thinks it should police the world. We armed the Afghanis we are fighting because we were trying to police the Soviet Union. We gave Pol Pot millions in aid because we were trying to police Vietnam. We armed Saddam because we were trying to police Iran.

You know what everyone else would like? For America to stay within America and not be the judge of the world. To not create so many situations that causes huge blowback like Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan.

Maybe trying scaling back the r****d insults and we'll talk one day.

Until then, have fun playing the blame game to defend religious wackos.

So would burning any book be "fightin' words" against its author, or people who are fans of it?

And does burning said book fall under the category of "deliberately trying to offend/provoke people"?

Am I not allowed to express my distaste/disdain for something (mind you, not like I'm going to your house and s**tting on your couch, but rather, holding a voluntary demonstration), because somebody might be offended, or take it as provocation?

Is it reasonable to think that someone should respond to burning a book by killing somebody (and not even the person who burned said book, but random people)?

So it's perfectly fine for you to insult me directly, but not OK for me to insult your pathetic and faulty reasoning? You are quite the hypocrite.

Not once did I defend the extremists for what they did. Their actions are morally reprehensible and only show why they are as immoral as the pastor. But numerous people here, including you, have defending the pastor for his moronic actions.

You fired the first salvo, captain.

If you want to keep being 4th grade about things, go for it, but you won't get a lot of feedback from most people around here.

If you can ever show me where the Pastor killed those people, or show me how it is reasonable to kill people for burning a book, I'll gladly join you in your crusade.

    Again displaying elementary reading comprehension.

Show me once where I stated the Pastor killed those people.

Show me once where I said it was reasonable to kill people for burning a book.

Of course you won't because I never once stated those things. If you're going to falsely accuse me of things and attribute stuff I never said to me, then at least make it somewhat believable. Otherwise you are only showing what type of dishonesty you have to engage in to make an argument.
