True. I think I changed my mind, I don't think any team with a legit frontcourt will stop the Lakers. And frontcourt matters most in the playoffs, I wonder if Bosh will manage to grab even one rebound during the playoffs. Juwan Howard is probably better than him in that aspect at this point.
I don't think any team in the league is capable of beating the Lakers in a 7-game series. None of them have the bigs. Chicago might come close.
I agree that the Lakers will probably win again. Gasol will be the best player on the team, and Kobe will get the FMVP.
Frick I really don't want Lakers to win again, the Kobetards will pop out of the woodworks next year claiming he's better than Jordan.
does it really even matter? Would you like to bet that the heat get knocked out in the 2nd round? IDC if they are the one seed. I will still bet with you. Maybe the loser leaves clutchfans forever?
If you go to the Lakers board, the one team they do not want to face is Miami, as they know Miami can beat them.
Miami's bigs have done fine against LA this season. It all really depends on if Chris Bosh decides to play or not. Maybe he does ok against LA because Gasol is more of a finesse guy like him? They have Dampier/Bynum and both of those guys should be able to lay a body on Bynum, as far as to where he won't dominate them. I actually think Miami matches up well with LA because the Lakers don't have a PG that can kill them and Kobe actually has to play some defense. And I mean real defense...not just sagging off a guy who has no jumper.
if you go to the bulls/celtics board... they want to face Miami... because they will beat them and have beat them.
They have killer PG's. LA doesn't. And if Miami can get past Boston in round 2, which homecourt should help with, then I expect them to go to the Finals. Of the 3 losses to the Bulls they blew huge leads twice and Bosh had a horrific game the 3rd time...both close losses. I think they can beat Chicago in a series. Not sure about Boston or LA though. And the Bulls might sign Eddy Curry??? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski_heat_consider_signing_Eddy_Curry_040211
I'll take Celtics, Bulls, and Magic over Heat in a 7 game series. Lebron has proven that home court for him does really play a difference. had it both times the last 2 seasons and still lost. of course this a "new team" with a worse record.
That is regular season. Lakers in the postseason is a different team. Kobe is a world class defender when he wants to be. Lakers historically have struggled against teams with elite PGs, Miami does not have that. And if you think that Bynum is going to clone himself and join the Heat, then you have lost your damn mind. Miami's bigs should be in a retirement home, not a basketball court. Gasol/Bynum will murder them.
I'll put it this way, if LA/Mia meet up then Kobe won't look like a world class defender that series. He arguably won't be the best wing on the floor. I wouldn't be surprised to see LA win the series, but it would be because of their bigs. And that may not be the case if Bosh decides to play like the first 2 meetings. He matches up well with Gasol/Odom. And I really haven't seen Bynum kill Big Z during their matchups. Kobe is going to have to actually play some defense and I think that will make a difference.*
You do realise Miami is a way better team then Orlando, and Orlando has no answer for Wade and Lebron, as they don't have wings that play any defence. Stop hating, and look at the facts, and stats.
