The 4.5 inch monster from Sammy isn't dual core which is highly unfortunate, although the Galaxy S II is. If the Galaxy S II is supported by CyanogenMod I will probably upgrade from my iPhone 4 (Previously owning G1, N1, G2). I think a lot of people fail to realize phones such as the Atrix may have less appeal than phones such as the Inspire because of software. Being able to root the Inspire and install Gingerbread (CM7) is a MAJOR plus. Also that no version of Android supports dual core CPU's except Honeycomb is a major factor.

Wanna know what my username is on XDA and Androidcentral?

Stay away from Samsung, nice hardware... not too nice support. Sure community roms will keep it going but modifying is more difficult. Then again, at least it isn't a Motorola . I personally hate using Odin on Galaxy S devices.

So what are my best options? Anything else coming down the pipe soon? The fact that the inspire is basically the EVO (am I wrong?) and the Atrix has Motoblur, I'm kind of "meh" about em. What's gonna blow me away on ATT?

Might be a good choice if you want to root it, I don't think LG is known for locking their phones down like Motorola. Atrix could be a good choice if your not looking to root it and tweak it a whole lot but personally I would never buy a locked down phone with MotoBlur. And yes your 100% correct about the Inspire being a repackaged EVO

Atrix and Inspire aren't LTE capable. Might have to switch to Verizon.

Any chance they make LTE versions of these phones when ATT gets their LTE network up?

Yes, however I get the feeling AT&T is going to have some sort of delay with their LTE network and devices.

    LTE is pretty amazing.

Here's Verizon's *RUMORED* upcoming line up

I might have to wait for the Bionic. I would prefer LTE and dual core.

Here it says Galaxy s2 might be an ATT and just HSPA+:

Yeah , I might skip out on the dual core, and get the Revolution due to its netflix capabilities. I got the Thunderbolt recently but I buy phones like crack, so I'm likely to get a new one soon.

Probable that AT&T gets it as well, but there's so many versions of the Galaxy S, I'm sure there will be a CDMA version.

Just like the Sony Xperia Play for Verizon, which recently got sent in to the FCC, it appears it still has a sim slot so it might be a world phone.

wow... you honestly would rather have the atrix then the nexus s? I'm jealous you have one and im stuck on verizon and have ZERO phones with pure google. Honestly all motorolla phones besides the original droid are a steaming pile of ****. Why? Ninja blur or what ever you freakin call is the worst idea that ever graced an android phone. Its ugly and slows down the phone to a piece of ****. It doesnt matter if this phone had a a quad core processor with 2 gigs of ram the phone will still crawl because of motorolla's bloatware. And to top it all off, it has a locked bootloader so no custom roms to remove motorolla's **** software. Be lucky you have a nexus s... see at least you don't have to wait half a year for an android update.

Motorolla proves that you can have the best hardware in the market but with **** software it all goes down the toilet

you can root the phone but you cannot load custom roms. So basically you cannot install a gingerbread rom and are stuck with froyo untill motorolla remove their heads out of their asses. And that goes with any update to android.
Lets say half a year down the line they come out with a new version of android called ice cream. On a phone that has a unlocked bootloader i can immediately install a rom with ice cream has soon as a 3rd party dev makes one. For example the almost 2 year old droid which has an unlocked bootloader can install a rom with a brand new version of android while phones like the droid x or atrix that have unlocked bootloaders will have to wait till motorolla decides to update the phone which could take up to a whole god damn year. ex: droid 2, droid x do not have gingerbread yet. Though you can get gingerbread on the original droid which is a 1 year older phone.

I still would rather not wait an entire year to have the latest android version on my phone. And stock android>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>blur, sense, touchwiz etc...

Yes, in fact. Android is going to start changing this.

    Everyone should read this.

    http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/31/google-tightening-control-of-android-insisting-licensees-abide/

    Google taking control.

Motorola is by far the worst. HTC is most lenient, however there are some complications with the newer models. None for me, I was able to go crazy on the Thunderbolt, overclocked, customer rom customer kernel... etc

Btw, the Droid X does have a Gingerbread leak out

In fact if you have a DROID X. Go here to install

you know what funny.... my thunderbolt with a custom kernel out performs the atrix which has a dual core preprocessor. whats even funnier is that android does not support dual core yet. However it will be supported with the next version of android code named ice cream. But the sad thing about that is motorolla will probably not update the atrix with this new version of android probably half a year after ice cream comes out. So really there is no point of having a dual core motorolla phone.

What kernel are you using for your Tbolt? I'm using this one now and it's beast on battery life

Motorola is saying they will update the atrix to 2.3 this year.

Not defending Motorola, I've never owned one, just sayin'.

Personally, I dont want to put in a bunch of work rooting, getting custom kernel's, etc. If a stock Atrix with the new Motoblur and gingerbread is good, i'll get it.
