apparently the noise of the arena helped us win tonight.

    How ironic.

The fans were responsible for completely tuning out Pop.

The players on the court could not hear him at all.

Then again, the whole Spurs bench should've stood up and yelled with him.

I guess they only represent .01% of all the Rockets' fans.

    Sincerely,

Leaving downtown Houston after a sporting event is not that bad. It was harder to leave the summit.

Fans left after the fourth quarter.

That's just what I expect out of us these days.

I don't get to a lot of games. I try to though. I think most Rockets fans who get to the Toyota Center, show up to rock out a little bit and see the team fight it out.

I think I'm still under 10 games this season. But, I've got a 7 month old little girl, and she's been to 3 of the games I've been to. :) Little Kara loves the noise at games! :p

...I was fortunate enough to be at the game tonight. Seeing the Rockets win like against the junky Spurs... that was really cathartic. You guys could just drop a piano on my head right about now. I AM COOKED.

FREAKING GO ROCKETS. :pointless commentary ends: :good story:

Welcome to Houston. Full of bandwagon fans. Damn you should see this city when the Astros are in the playoffs.

The Wizards and Pistons outsell us? Really? Not only do the Pistons suck, but Detroit is practically a third world country these days (no offense if someone here happens to be from the area, haha)... And of course the Wizards are just god awful.

Some people seem a little defensive/sensitive toward the OP, but I'm inclined to agree somewhat. Especially since there was a thread not too long ago pounding Atlanta fans. And to that I say that there is no way in an un-Twilight-Zone universe that Houston fans of any sport can criticize Atlanta fans of the same sport."

Have to disagree with ya there. Leaving downtown is simple compared to the Summit and Dome. Polk to 59 can pretty much get you any direction out of downtown or at least get you out and on your way. Its not bad at all.
I messed up this one time around 2002 when we left early and wound up watching Daryle Ward hit a walk off hom run that hit the foul pole while we were eating at Tia Maria's.
Leaving early to not see Lee's grand slam after Biggio got his 3,000 was disappointing too but I was at the B.U.S. across the street and it was still very wild and memorable.
Beating traffic is in no way more memorable than staying to watch your team in ot, even if they lose. We do only live once but I hope you enjoyed getting home early tonight instead of cheering the Rockets on to victory in ot against our I-10 in-state rival. I still feel bad for anyone that left the t-mac 13 in 35 game against the Spurs and that was in regulation

first name Rocket, last name Girl. My fans suck:grin:

I thought our fans were pretty good tonight. And as a matter of fact, a lot less people left at the start of overtime (the least I've seen all year), at least in the lower bowl. I didn't look at the upper. I watch for it every time.

Also, have to take into account that there was a number of people in the crowd that were neither Rockets or Spurs fans. I talked to some people at the game from Connecticut in town for Final Four, but they stayed until the end. Probably most of the visiting people would stay until the end- they made the trip to Houston to watch basketball- not to beat traffic.

I haven't seen the game but the crowd's reaction to Lowry's clutch basket was pathetic.
