No it's not lol. As far as singular accomplishments, he has the best blend of hardware, accolades, stats, and longevity.

Based on the information I have read here and there, Russell has to be in the top 5.

    The order should be:

Wilt (100 points in one game, a performance of around 50 points, and 40 rebounds in one year)
    Russell
    Dream
    Shaq
    Kareem

oh well, apparently you don´t consider getting destroyed in the playoffs (in the years you actually made the playoffs) by your rivals until Magic resurrected your career to be significant.

    how old are you.

Kareem was considered to be a loser all through the 70´s.

The move Airplane...did you kids see this?

I rather all these guys make a top 10 list because in a top 5 you will always see Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Wilt & Russell (though this guy chose Malone).
There are many more great centers who never get the recognition because of a lack of top10 lists and who can really argue would those 5 as the best ?

Here's the other 5 I would like to see getting some recognition in a top 10 list:
    - Moses Malone
    - Dikembe Mutombo
    - David Robinson
    - Patrick Ewing
    - Jack Sikma

Kareem plus an old Big O won the championship in 1971.

    Kareem was the league MVP in 1971, 1972, 1974, 1976, and 1977.

But besides that he was a loser.

I would probably have Russ on the list instead of Moses, but other than that, I don't have an issue with the five he picked. The order is a bit wrong though. It should be:
    1. Wilt
    2. Kareem
    3. Hakeem
    4. Russ
    5. Shaq

THE FACT THAT HE DIDNT INCLUDE BILL RUSSELL IN THIS LIST IMMEDIATELY DISCREDITS THIS ARTICLE!

Zero cred....none whatsoever....a list of all time best centers without Bill Russell isn't worth the time it takes to read it.

Hakeem is the best offensive and defensive center of all time. How can you now call him the GOAT?

    .
What is really funny, is 1976 is the ONLY year when the MVP did not make it to the playoffs.

    that was Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

THE ONLY YEAR an MVP didn't make it to the playoffs.

you Jabbar fans are Nitwitz fans

    Both have NBA MVP's
    Both have multiple NBA Championships
Both have multiple NBA Championsip MVP's
Only one was a defensive MVP
Only one accomplished all four in single year....

.....Hmmmm which one was that. What was that comment about who has accomplished what?

I would put Shaq above Dream. Shaq would be number 1 and Dream would be number 2.

No one will ever come close to those guys. No one.
