It's going to get a lot less obscure when Ron wins the award.

Ron Ron is a true professional and a leader. I hope he will retired as a Rocket.

It's not that obscure. I remember Dalembert winning it for Haiti relief efforts last year.

Artest has been making genuine public service efforts for years now. I think he deserves the award. The guffaws about going from the Palace Brawl to this are misplaced -- a person can be a brawling punk on the court and a generous humanitarian off of it at the same time. Though Artest has matured a lot since that fight anyway.

Good for Ron. He's gotten a lot better since his days with the pacers. Of course that might be what he will be remembered for but it is cool that he seemingly has turned things around

Last night five players were ejected in the Laker/Mav game and not a single one of those players was named Ron Artest. The guy has really grown up. I'm now starting to miss him. Ouchies...

The guy received a memo half-way through the series against the Lakers 2 years ago. He quit playing and less than a few days after the series was over was seen in a Laker's cap in Western Conference Finals. What does that tell you about Ron as a Rocket. It meant nothing to him.
