Ohboyohboyohboy, the annual tattoo argument thread! Props on the nerdcore tattoos. Do what you want to do with your life and your body. People who hate on tattoos don't understand them. Like being gay; I don't get it, but if that's your gig, and it makes you happy, I support it 100%. I love the 'your body is a temple' crowd. You know, the insanely unhealthy religious types who are really taking care of their temple. And the 'tattoos are trashy' types who certainly have some habits that would be considered trashy by others.
I don't know what the general sentiment on girls' tattoos is, but to me personally a tattoo is a huge turnoff. Doesn't matter where it is or what it is. My advice would be: don't. But then again, there would be guys who would tell you the opposite. So do what you want to do and forget I said anything. Anyway, I can't imagine getting a tattoo. Definitely can't see myself getting something like a video game character even though I'm a huge video game nerd. It would have to be something very meaningful. Can't really think of anything in my life thus far that would qualify.

They're synonymous with trashy, IMO... nothing more than a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

I don't care if someone gets a tattoo, unless it's my 15 year old daughter, but I don't have one. My reason? Why get something that's damned near next to impossible to get rid of if you grow tired of it? And yeah, don't we get one of these threads at least once a year?
Tattoos on a woman can be sexy. It really depends on the tattoo and the woman, and that can change as the years and gravity take their toll. That said, I think it's sexy when a woman has confidence in herself and her body. If a tattoo makes a woman feel better about her body, I think that's a great thing. Just as long as they don't go for the Birdman look.
I know this is cliché and sexist, but I'm ambivalent about guys having them, but I hate it when a pretty girl has them. Even if it’s the world’s most critically acclaimed tattoo artist doing the work on a pretty girl, to me it’s just like a renowned graffiti artist spray painting over the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Sure, I realize that other people might appreciate it, but to me it’s just a very clumsy art form covering up a much higher work of art.
i got my first tattoo 16 years ago and have never regretted it. i have 3 now, but the last one i got was in 1999. never got any since, but it wasnt b/c i didnt want any more - just didnt know what i wanted. the last year or so ive gotten the itch to get some more and i actually have a couple designs that i want. i have a tattoo of your ass on my ass.
