Most of Yao's salary is not even paid by us this season since insurance covers most of it. The actualy amount Les is paying is less than the reported payroll.
LOL @ the gloom and doom. Didn't people think just last night that we were just a good big man away from being a contender next year?
I worry that our late season push is going to trick people into thinking this team is a piece away from being a contender..
As much as I love The Rockets, if them missing the 8th seed is what makes you "so depressed," count yourself lucky.
It is. Check our record since the trade. This team was built for two all-stars and look what we've done with zero. Les and Daryl shouldn't be ****ing with anything but adding one more piece -- least of all changing coaches.
On the plus side, we will be better next season once we get rid of Yao's ridiculous contract and use it on people that can play basketball without breaking apart. More experience for the young guys too, not all doom and gloom.
No time for depression. Let's win out and see what happens. Let's snag a big in the off-season, and hope Yao can come back in a backup/mentoring role. If we're better at the 5 next year, we might... Well, anyway, that's our position of greatest need.
So we're not winning the championship this year? I'm crying now because I really thought we had a chance. Womp Womp Womp
