True enough. We did shoot ourselves in the foot so many times this year and this is what the result is. And yes we have a direction. Not up...not down....just straight. Some might call that a "flat line."
Honestly I'm unhappier that Phoenix will miss the playoffs and give up only the Orlando pick to Houston instead of their own. Playoffs for this Rockets group would be nice given how hard they've played, but that draft pick is much more valuable in the long term.
We never had a direction. we have #7 payroll but we can only compete for #14 pick and yet we are worshiping the money ball and laud the mediocrity. we are stilling thinking of signing Yao. We will not give Adelman extension. We are a team of fool's gold.
By direction, I meant we know the kind of players we need but don't have, so we're TRYING to get them on the roster.
Ya I know. Was just trying to make a funny. Not a great time to be a Houston fan. But on that glorious day we win our 3rd title....I'm gonna remember back to this day and think....in the words of the great Gene Peterson... "How Sweet it is!!!"
Oh well, at least if we do sign Yao again, It won't take up 17 Million in cap space, guess that's a start in a new direction. Plus not a star studded draft anyways.
Man 7 more games to go, still supporting the team till its finally over but being out of playoffs once again sucks.
This reminds me of the Francis/Mobley days were we always just barely missed the playoffs. At least back then the future looked bright with a promising superstar on the rise with Stevie Franchise.
. Its a curse, Rgay out and the grizz still kept winning, same with the Dwest Situation ........ $^&* you CLandry, cant believe i am saying this, i thought he was planted by Morey to screw NOrleans and secure us a poff berth I felt like shouting my lungs out and ripping my heart out now arghhhhhhhhhhhhh Now we need to endure the endless garbage 7-8 useless games and errr neverending offseason again without knowing our future with nabbing quality free agents C, coach Rick and Yao's status
It's pretty depressing having another mediocre season in a row, but what else could we have done with Yao being hurt the whole time? I'm pretty sure management will trade away Martin and Scola this offseason now that the "Yao as our franchise player" era is over. 2012 is supposed to be a rich draft class, and it will be a thrill watching Lowry/Lee/Bud/Pat/Thabeet and whatever newbie coach is at the helm lead this team to one of the worst records in the league! Morey will do a great job filling in the holes around a new franchise player that won't be made out of glass--we just gotta land him first!
