Hey everyone, I'm a newbie, but I think that Kyle Lowry is a big reason the Rockets are playing so well! I think we should be looking to build around him and not necessarily upgrade him... All he needed was a chance... With the right talent, he can lead us to a title... we have as good a backcourt as any in the league... Am I wrong?

    What should he do?

Should he be who you want him to be?

Look, if you knew anything about basketball you'd realize that his ceiling is very good backup PG.

Just consider him a placeholder until we get a PG who doesn't pee his pants in the 4th quarter.

    Welcome to Clutchfans!

With the way he's been playing as of late, I'll agree.

we dnt need to build around him, i think we are really close to a contending team, all we need is that dominant athletic 7ft center that would play with in the system.

I think Lowry could easily be a point guard on a championship team. He's playing a hell of a lot better basketball than Derek Fisher ever has. In fact, I think if he and Rondo traded places right now Lowry would be getting similar hype and respect.

But until the Rockets acquire a true superstar, it's a moot point. I simply cannot imagine winning a championship when Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin are our best players. If we were able to lure in Dwight Howard when he becomes a free agent? Possibly!

Best case scenario I think is Chauncey Billups. PG capable of leading to a title, but not really a top 3 or even top 5 PG in the league. That's not a bad thing at all though if he can hit the big shots like Chauncey used to and defend well, getting teammates involved.

If we can get an above average center (with Patterson, Hayes, Scola the other bigs in the rotation) and a good wing I think we'll have a chance at making a serious run. Lowry is definitely a piece of a championship team, IMO.

If you mean he could be used to trade for Chris Paul one day? Maybe another Superstar point guard I agree in that regard. Everything else in that sentence is hard to agree with. He could very well start next to someone else and help lead us to a Championship as a third option to a Superstar. I dont feel he is easily replaceable though. It would have to be the very top cream of the crop to replace Lowry now.

The reason the rockets are playing so well is because ABrooks and Battier aren't on the team missing shots.

I wish them both well in the future as ex-rocket players but, DAMN!, they built a mansion with all those bricks.

Good article from the Philadelphia press on Lowry:
    http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/118895749.html

What I love about Lowry is the fact that he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He knows no one is going to hand him anything, so he looks for any little edge he can find and hustles his ass off. Definitely a Philadelphia product by the way he plays.

sarcasm is the worst thing to happen to every forum in the world.

    it doesn't work
in this type of environment unless it's obvious obvious obvious sarcasm, which most don't know how to pull off...while some people would still have trouble detecting the obvious sarcasm in the first place.

sarcasm= don't use this method in forums.
