Is it acceptable to show up to a Rockets game in a Tracy McGrady jersey nowadays?

I went to the Rockets v. Nets game last night and a fan sitting near me was wearing a McGrady Rockets jersey. Strike me as strange given the history between the player and the team.

    Is this normal behavior?

    Probably just a casual fan.

I don't recall seeing too many Tmac jerseys going to a couple of Rockets games this year, but I don't think the average fan is embarrassed to wear one like you might see with a Texans fan wearing a David Carr jersey.

Frankly, I don't look down too much on the Tmac era at this point. It's disappointing to think about, and it did get ugly, and yes, he's very egotistical and craves attention...but we were legit title contenders with him and Yao every year. Maybe Tracy could have done more in the offseason every year to prepare his body, but who knows. There's no use blaming him for it anymore, as it's better to chalk it up to injuries and bad luck.

Maybe they weren't accepting anymore jersey donations at goodwill and they got stuck with it.

I'm a die-hard fan and I'll gladly wear that jersey. I bought it when T-mac was king and everytime I look at it, it brings me back to when we were contenders. T-mac lost my respect for what he did, but that jersey represents a hell of a lot more than just him.

i still liked the old mcgrady. i just hate the new one. The 12 points to beat the spurs is awesome, and the 22 game win streak was incredilble. My allegiance to tmac ended after he got elective surgery before we could trade him.

 #3 or #1? If it was #3, maybe no. If it was #1... maybe it was OK. Was the name on the back?

Are you sure it wasn't Bobby Sure (good), Buck Johnson (OK), Derrick Chievous (somewhat OK), Steve "Franchise" (meh'ish), or Tracy McGrady (ewww!)?

    LOL!

Poor people make me laugh. :p

I think most people who wear that jersey, or any old jersey do it to represent the team, not so much the individual player. But screw T mac!

You want to buy him a new one?

I'm sure he'd stop wearing it if he had a new one.
