I don't know. I can't see how Nolan's Batman and Snyder's Superman is going to work. They are two different director and have very different visual. I'm going to wait and see how Snyder is approaching his version of Superman if he's still on board after the outcome of Sucker Punch.
Exactly. They may be in the same comicverse, but these two characters have no business co-existing together in a storyline. Not even in the comics. They shouldn't even acknowledge each others existence.
I think the problem is Nolan's Batman. He base his Batman in a too realistic directional sense. They only way I can see a Batman and a Superman coexistent in the same Universe if his Batman is like something like Nite Owl in Snyder's Watchmen. Nolan's Batman needs to turn up a notch.
That's one of the strengths of the Nolan's batman series. Keeping it based in reality (technological wonders aside) means he had to ground the fantasy value of the villains, which plays a big part in the movies' grittiness. If they were to join the two heroes in a film, the scale of the fight and what's at stake would have to be expanded a lot. It would have to involve some serious villainy, like Darkseid or something, and that means serious alien CGI.
Superman should go the Darkseid route. Lobo. Whatver weird characters they have, as opposed to Lex Luther or some other random dude holding Kryptonite. The whole space-y setup might work. But it shouldn't touch Batman's dick. That's just stupid.
They don't have to crossover in the physical sense, maybe just allude to the man of steel. Scene: Bruce is making out with his new love interest, with the giant plasma tv turned on, as he as about to undo her bra, the news breaks into special coverage of a major disaster in Metropolis.
Adds nothing to the story. All it does is gets all of the DC fanboys' seats wet. Pointless and cheesy.
I suppose one man's trash is another's treasure..because this is exactly why I love Nolan's Batman series so much.
Where the hell did I say it was trash? All I said was that Nolan's Batman will not work well with a fantasy omnipotent Superman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FywMOuMqNuI
I like Burton's goth fantasy and Nolan could use a dash of it. But yes, Shumacher deserves death by a thousand paper cuts for what he did to Batman.
I think if they were going to do a crossover regarding Superman and Batman the way Frank Miller handled it in The Dark Knight Returns might work. Superman is portrayed as almost a force of nature that while incredibly powerful can also be manipulated because at heart he doesn't understand human nature.
why? i am grateful for this comic gold. Spoiler <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SRH-Ywpz1_I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Zach Snyder http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...d:+thr/film+(The+Hollywood+Reporter+-+Movies) There you have it. So pretty much it's a setup to be able to put Nolan's Batman with Snyder's Superman in the "realism" world setting.
I call BS. Don't trust that site. They posted a picture of Bane from some fan film and after removing it, claimed it was at the request of WB: This is the picture: Spoiler Spoiler
I read a WHILE back that after Burton made Batman Returns the studio wanted to draw more kids into the franchise so they told Shumacher to make it more cartoonish and thus we got what we did. I could stomach "Forever" but B&R was straight out of Saturday Morning TV. I always thought Burton basically brought the comic books to life and now IMHO Nolan is bringing the graphic novels to life..big difference.
I would love to see a crossover following frank millers the dark knight returns but thered have to be a bunch of movies made before that happened what marvel or the studio that's making the movies is doing is genius
