    Actually I could see Portland going 2-8 down the stretch (including tonight's impending loss to OKC). Their schedule is absolutely brutal. The Rockets would have to go 7-2. So Portland may actually be our best shot.

    The Spurs lost to Memphis again. This definitely does not make it any easier for our Rockets to advance into the playoffs

    Well Portland is 0-1 since I posted this and looking at another potential loss tomorrow against LAL. So yeah, it's very hahaha funny.

    could happen

    i agree it could happen..they have a brutal schedule...but they have too much talent to go 2-8 but anybody could go thru a slump so I wouldn't say its impossible especially with that schedule....
    I think catching the hornets is more of a possibility with our game agains tthem being a playoff game for both teams...with them losing David West for the season, I think the hornets could slide quickly..hopefully

    Looks like the Hornets are gonna lose. Half a game closer to them...

    NOLA lost, now Dallas needs to beat the Suns. But the teams we need to lose are always winning. Phoneix is leading at half time and may just pull it off with a new starting line up.

    Hornets have done their job by losing to L.A..
    Now we need to go 9:0 or we're done

    you have to think between Por/NO/Mem, one of them has to have a bad spell

    Memphis has 8 games left, while Houston has 9.

    Houston is 2.5 games back, which means Memphis needs to lose 2 more games than Houston does. For example, if the Grizzlies go 6-2 (very possible), the Rockets have to have a perfect 9-0 record.

    Not an easy task by any means.

    If Houston goes 7-2, I believe one of the following has to happen:

    Memphis goes 4-4.
    Portland goes 2-7.
    New Orleans goes 2-6.

    Memphis is still our best bet IMO.

    Those teams all play each other too, which just ups the chance even more that one of them slides a bit. Together those teams play 4 very meaningful games against each other with Memphis and NOH involved in 3 of them.

    Portland is @ NOH and home for Memphis
    Memphis is home and home with NOH and @ Portland
    NOH is home and home with Memphis and home for Portland.

    I don't get it, everyone had the Miami game penciled in as a loss. Now that it's happened, people are saying the season is over.

    Did you think we were going to go 15-0 to end the season?

    Phoenix loses tonight. Not huge, but it's good to get them 1 back in the loss column again. Phoenix is all but done I would think at this point.

    If became a must win if we were to take Memphis's spot since Memphis were supposed to lose today against the Spurs but didn't. If Memphis had lost, this loss wouldn't have been so huge. Our only shot is New Orleans now.

    Well, with the Hornets beating Phoenix the other night and Memphis beating San Antonio, our room for error just got smaller. Realistically, we can only lose one more game.

    @NJN - W
    @PHI - W
    SAS - W (w/o Duncan this is possible)
    ATL - W
    SAC - W
    @NOR - W
    LAC - W
    DAL - L
    @MIN - W

    Given how Memphis is playing and the Grizzlies schedule, they aren't losing three more games. But New Orleans still might choke w/o West. We need them to lose 5 games. Given their schedule, it is possible:

    POR - L
    MEM - L
    IND - W
    HOU - L
    PHO - W
    @MEM - L
    UTA - W
    @DAL - L

    Houston ends up 46-36 and New Orleans 45-37. It is seems like a bit of a long shot, but I haven't given up hope yet.
