Let me put it this way. Having Yao on the roster the past two seasons has resulted in only negatives for the team. What contributions has Yao made to this team in recent years?
That's the problem with the contract offered. Now you're changing your premise entirely. I'm simply just debunking your point in the thread title. To say he cost us the season when he only played a mere 5-10 games is simply ludicrous.
Yao was definitley a negative factor in the beginning of the season. When he was in the game we had a lost identity on both sides of the ball and were consistently being outscored. You can't reasonably ask a team to play with and without a 7'6 center on a strict time schedule and expect them to win. I would bet that had we just sidelined Yao from the beginning of the season we would of been better prepared and have improved chemistry to start the year.
Yeah, it's Yao's fault he broke his foot while battling the Lakers in 2009, it's also his fault the management didn't trade him for Dwight Howard when he was injured so we become instant contenders this year. It's his fault he re-injured himself trying to play. It's his fault Morey couldn't find a sign a decent 7 footer in the off season. It's his fault AB sprained his ankle. He should totally take responsibilities of these hideous actions to the team. He should've asked the team to buy him out last year, even though he showed signs of progression. This Thread is dumb, OP should stop embarrassing himself
When he's in the game and working himself back from an injury, I just want to gouge my eyes out at how slow he is on offense and the ball movement does not occur.. He averages more 2.8 seconds to decide what he wants to do wants he gets the ball.. Yes I went to the frame by frame of those first 5 games earlier this season and I can say that's not compatible with modern NBA basketball. To make it work, our guys need to move and cut and Yao needs to Vlade Divac his passes to the right guy.. be it the shooter, cutter, etc.. But he's so out of groove and so big and slow.. I don't want him to ever suit up in a Rox uni again.
Because the Thread is rude, offensive, ignorant and flat out wrong. The man did all he could to perform to his contract. I respect him, and rue the season(s). What happened to the days when this was a terrific forum?
Embarrassing myself? I'm simply validating the known fact that Yao has had a negative effect on this franchise in recent years.
Still not Yao's fault. Win as a team and lose as a team and not many other guys were playing any good. Also I believe Yao wanted to break his limit. Not like he demanded to only play 20 mins.
Thats a silly question. Of course he did. He has cost every waist of a season he has been in a Rockets uniform. He is the most useless Superstar in the league. He has literally waisted his entire Rockets existance of seasons we could have went in another direction by now while he was injured nor nearly every single one of them. But he is a "nice guy".
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Javale Mcgee cost the rockets this season, and i think it was Pau Gasol who cost us postseason 08-09, and 09-10.
Cost us what, a first round sweep, yes he costed us that. If the rockets had completely cut bait with Yao we would still the same group of good, but no great players. Yao potential health gave the rockets a chance, albeit a slim one to contend for something. Without Yao we had 0 chance to do anything.
Ughh. Whatever. Rockets fans are hard heads. Stay in the Yao debacle for as long as it takes to figure it out. Its a never ending injury cycle. It wont end as long as people still want to believe in Yao. Its rediculous like a crack addiction or something with some of these guys we get attached to on our Rockets team.
Yes. Because the Rockets have a player that had a contract to match Chandler's but wasn't guaranteed. And Jordan obviously wanted talent over shedding payroll, as evident by his later trade of Wallace for just picks. I also want to add that the Rockets also didn't want to challenge for the championship against the Lakers/Maves/Spurs. We just didn't want it enough. Darn it, if only we actually tried like a championship team, we'd just better.
If only Yao wasn't on da roster, Morey surely would have bought us an All Star center by now. Fo sho! Stupid Yao. Stupid Morey. Stupid Stupid WAAAAAAH!!!!
I can't believe anyone would ever vote anything other than yes. Of course when you have that much money of a limited budget invested in someone who never plays you'll be less than you could ever be otherwise. Dumbasses.
