The racist overtones in your post are abhorrent. What if my daughter is black herself, should I care more or less about her hanging around with "black guys"? Do think 18 year old white guys are not as horny and less likely to rape a chick even if they've been brought up in the same socio-economic environment?

It doesn't matter what your moral compass/law states. That's for finite matters, not the infinite. Underage kids are going to have sex with other underage kids. It's a natural thing. You need to come down from that ivory tower of being an old man without a childhood of your own. Group sex with 18+ yr olds is definitely wrong, but (giving a separate example) an 18 yr old having sex with a 16 yr old doesn't automatically make it rape.

 

Get out of your room and live life. Don't look for internet studies to help you understand everything, poindexter.

 

That's not what the law says in regard to an 11 year old and we are talking about an 11 year old here not an 18+ or an 18 year old having sex with a 16 year old.

As for 18+ having group sex I have no problem with that other than that they should use condoms.

They're both regarded as minors - it doesn't take into account some kids go through puberty quicker than others or different approaches to sexuality. Different states have different ages of consent. Off the top of my head it seems like 18 is most common but some states go as young as 15. Many states also have things such as Romeo and Juliet laws that allow minors to have sex with each other.

Yes you are right that people enter puberty at different ages but I don't think you can base a law regarding statistical outliers of girls who hit puberty early. Further our age of consent is well past puberty so that's not a factor. Consent is the key and we generally don't consider a teenager, especially an 11 year old, to be able to make an informed decision. I mean if you are arguing (frankly I don't know what you are arguing about) that an 11 year old or even a 15 year old can give consent then why not let them sign contracts? Why not let them get credit cards on their own and so on?

Whether biologically 11 year olds can have sex isn't the issue. An 11 year old might not be physically any different than a 15 year old or even someone older but that doesn't mean we are going to trust 11 year olds to drive and to do all sorts of other things. We don't give them consent for their protection.

Since you are asking my opinion I agree with that and am pretty much OK with an 18 year old age of consent modified by Romeo and Juliet laws. For instance I wouldn't be troubled by a 19 year old having sex with a 17 year old. That said I think anything below 15 is problematic. From what I have seen of women who became sexually active in their early teens is that it caused a lot of problems in their life.

Ronny needs to know if she's consenting, not if she's 11 (or 10 or even 9, cause what's the difference, right Ronny?) Forget the fact that she won't know what she's talking about, but Ronald can always regale her with stories of European grade school orgies.

 

This statement proves you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. A law is a law. Whether you agree with it or not, it is still a law. You live in a society and one of your basic responsibility is to follow the laws of that society. If the law says it is illegal to have sex with a 16 years old, you should not do it or you go to the jail. It's just as simple as that. Just because you think a law is unreasonable doesn't mean you can disregard it.

I don't think so. You can comply with a law and lobby against it at the same time, and you would be respecting the law in both cases.

 

Yes there are unjust laws and laws that are out of touch with society but I don't think that a law preventing sex with 11 year olds is unjust or out of touch with society.

 

Like I said its OT. For this case I think its just common sense that you don't mess with anyone under 18.
