All rookie teams aren't by positions, it's simply the best 5 rookies in the first team, the next 5 best in the second.

All I know is that the guards on the first team are D.Rose and Kobe. Not Wade.

    Rose gets no love eh?

I don't think Wade deserves to be on the first team this year, and certainly not higher than Rose on the top 5 player list imo.

If you have two guys in the all nba first team, two guys in the top 3 best player list, you better do better than having the 6th best record in the league.

these rankings are more about individuals and their individual accomplishments rather than team accomplishments. tmac made all-nba 2nd team having the worst record in the L in 03-04. kobe made 3rd team all-nba despite no playoffs in 04-05.

wade has been a better individual player than rose (more points, rebounds, steals, blocks, fg%, 3pt%).

and wade is getting a lot of defensive love lately with his ridiculous # of blocks in the past few weeks: 2-3 games of 5 block games.

    wade: 25.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 4.9apg, 49.8%fg, 57.7%TS, 25.4PER, ORTG 113, DRTG 102, win share 11.2

    rose: 24.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 7.9apg, 43.9%fg, 54%TS, 23.4PER, ORTG 112, DRTG 102, win share 11.3

wade definitely has the more impressive statline.

They don't just look at stats, they look at wins. In 2007-2008, Garnett has taken the all-nba first team over Nowitzki and Duncan despite having inferior stats because his team was not just winning, but they were the best team in the NBA.

Rose will and should get first team over Wade because of the same reason. Rose is the leader of the best team in the east, whiles Lebron and Wade has managed to occasionally become the joke of the league. Of course Lebron will get first team, but Wade will get second team behind Rose, or first team with rose.

    James
    Dirk
    Dwight

    2nd team :
    Manu
    Kobe
    Durant
    Gasol
    Amare

    3rd team:
    Paul
    Williams
    Melo
    Love
    Duncan

    Defense:
    Kobe
    Wade
    Lebron
    Iggy
    Howard

    Rookie 1st-team:
    Griffin
    Wall
    Monroe
    Fields
    Cousins

    Rookie 2nd-team:

Patterson being benched for thirty or so games pretty much costs him the spot.

maybe b/c garnett back then was regarded also as a top 2 defender in the L. i don't know, just a thought. he was a much better all-around player than dirk in his prime.

wade will get votes for DPOY and he's 3rd in efficiency in the entire league.

He was certainly a better all around defender than Dirk, but definitely not better than Duncan defensively, yet he still got first team over Duncan.

And I don't think there was ever an MVP who was NOT on the all nba first team.

To those of you putting Kobe on the 1st team defense, is this what you're predicting, or do you actually think he deserves it? I don't think there is any legit argument for Kobe being one of the two best defensive guards in the league this season (or any of the past half dozen seasons, but that's a different issue).

thats why i had a difficult time putting him or kobe on the first team. wade definitely has had a better statistical year than both, and has had a bigger impact defensively than both.

i think wade will be shafted b/c of the rose's hype and kobe's reputation.

it would be amazing that wade will be among the top 5 players of his generations and he doesn't have any all-nba 1st teams to show for it.

Garnett took one team out of the 1st round w/o the big 3. He might have been tmac if not getting in the right situation.

I think dirk is a much better player. He took his team to the finals as a lead dog.

Chuck Hayes is a great story, but come on. Tyson Chandler?
