I just watched this week's episode. Am I the only person here who thought it was absolutely brilliant? This season has been a little bit disappointing so far, but I was in stitches watching this one.
I might have appreciated it more had I seen "My Dinner With Andre". Not enough Alison Brie since they've come back from break.
I watched the first few episodes when the show premiered and couldn't stand it. But I ended up watching this week because I heard about the Pulp Fiction angle and I wanted to see where they'd go with it. I have to say, I thought it was pretty good...but one thing is for certain. I can't stand the black guy's character. Something about him just gets under my skin.
Alison Brie... Is this a true story, or is she just writing it for laughs? Definitely gives you a whole new spin when you think about Community... http://www.nerve.com//love-sex/true-stories/true-stories-homosexual-schmomosexual
It's a spot-on take of My Dinner. As soon as I heard the opening monologue, and saw the sweater, I thought--Oh, they're doing My Dinner. The monologue about ----ting himself, realizing he is both viewer and actor in Cougar Town--the pitch, the cadences--was genius parody of Andre Gregory. Representative sample of original: Spoiler I have to respect the writers for doing a parody of a movie that has virtually no viewership outside of arthouses/film schools--no pandering for ratings here--and making it genuinely funny. And using Abed's aping of a movie about friendship, and conversation, in order to escape/overcome his autistic inability to relate to others is itself an interesting/believable direction to push the character. And yes, not enough Brie.
This seemed like an appropriate spot for this video. Enjoy the hilarity.
Roll a D6 from Connor Anderson on Vimeo.

Meh. Not sure how it pertains to Community, but this one is much better. Donald Glover slays me with his delivery... Jeff - "My forehead isn't that big is it?" Troy - "It's not small."
Too many movie references to count last night, though my favorite was Donald Glover dressed as Cleavon Little from Blazing Saddles.
