Top stars on Youtube can clear anywhere from 100K to 7 figures.

To be a top star you generally have to have more than 30M subscribers.

A big portion of monetizing their star status is through the ads they run, but there are some other corporate sponsorships involved as well.

Thanks for the info. I have no plans on trying to make money off of getting subscribers on Youtube but just curious.

    Skimmed through it.

Why do people "follow" these kinds of people in the first place? I'll never understand.

Not to be an @$$ but even the top most subscribed youtuber has only 3.4 million subscribes roughly

Maybe he means views. I'd imagine 30M subs would be a substantial portion people using Youtube alone.

Whatever it is, I know that there are plenty of people who make over 6 figures.

A good handful of the Call of Duty kids on Youtube are pulling in over 200K. Unreal.

How do you know this? Got a link?

What do you know about people who stream shows on Ustream, Livestream, etc... What's their income like?

Maybe on Tosh.0, but that story got boring fast. Apathy overcame me quite quickly, much faster than usual...

Maybe you use to be like him so you sympathize with the dude.

This is total epic. The guy is digging his own grave and adding the final nail to his Coffin...

I was curious too and did a quick search which came up with this article about the top you tube partners' gross.

    http://www.socialtimes.com/2010/08/money-youtube-partners/

No Call of Duty kids bringing in 200k but then again it wouldn't surprise me if there was.

Sheesh. I figure they were making some kind of profits but didn't expect to be that much.

So I guessed other well know musicians or actors on YouTube probably banking in extra cash also.

I don't think you get paid by subscribers. I'm just guessing here but I think money comes from youtube, and other sponsors. I think you have a choice of what ads you put in the box left of your video.

I think each month youtube pays you a certain amount depending on the views, favorites and likes of your videos of that month. Since you are not strictly not allowed to disclose the earnings, nobody is really sure how much is earned.

However, kevjumba started this channel a few months ago called jumbafund, and basically donates all earnings from that channel each month to a charity of choice, and he does disclose that value. That channel has like 500k subs. On average he donates aka. earns like 2000-3000 dollars a month.

Well, the blonde hair is certainly something to process. I've got to go get some lye and a hot comb.
