    I agree.

Help me out, though. Do we know for certain that Adelman hasn't been offered one and turned it down? I could totally see Adelman and his wife not wanting to commit to coaching vs retiring...especially before the season when Coach didn't know whether Yao return to past form.

Yeah he recently said he wants an extension.

With a contract that's expiring, the Rockets have not offered Adelman an extension like the ones given to Nate McMillan in Portland and George Karl in Denver. He's been told they'll get back to him at the end of the season, hardly an endorsement.
"Surprised? Yeah, I think I am," Adelman said. "I think we've done a really good job. I don't know what else they want us to do when you lose your two best players and you make the changes we've made."

You should know if Spo' gets the boot, the only coach who will replace him
is the guy who booted him.

I think Les and Morey would rather have a coach that they can tell what to do. We all know RA isnt taking any S**T from Morey and that they do disagree on a few things.
But mainly because RA is a winning coach who has been winning for a long time. Hes going to do things his way and his way only.
With the new direction the team is going in, I think it is important for Morey and Les to feel like they have more control over the Coaching situation than they do now. If they feel like a player should be playing it would be easier to tell that to a new coach then to tell RA, "Hey start playing Hasheem or start giving T.Wills some mins. Its just not gonna happen as long as RA is the coach.

Honestly I do want RA back next season but as long as we dont completely give up on his system, We will still be a better team even if he doesnt return next season

If Spoelstra is fired when Miami loses in the playoffs this year, then it's basically 100% likely Pat Riley takes the HC job and not anyone else.

There are going to be some coaching jobs open around the league this summer. It could be as many as 6 spots open.

If RA does not resign with us he will have other jobs to pick from if he wants them.

We're not that underdog right now... If we make the playoffs, we could be considered underdogs lol

I would look at Orlando. SVG is probably gone if they don't go to the Finals. They already have Hedo there and some good perimeter guys/shooting bigs like Bass and Anderson. Rick could impose his will there easily.

I think that'd be a good situation for him. Also, I could see NY being an attractive spot. Can they really stick with D'Antoni?

But, going to Miami isn't 0%. There are only 30 jobs in the league and there aren't any openings at the moment. So, if he wants to coach next season and Miami is offering their position, at best he's only going to have a couple of positions to choose from. If Miami is the best one, he's going there.

As for the extension in Houston: I'm not convinced he'd sign it. He's said he's done a good enough job that he thinks he should be offered an extension. I don't think that means he'd take it.
