I can see Adelman wanting to coach a "ready now to win" team and if the Heat exit the playoffs early this season and fire Spoelstra do you think Adelman leaves Houston to take the Heat job?

    zero

they wouldnt buy into his system, he needs players who play the system, stars can do it, but guys like wade and lebron are creators and arent going to run off screens for shots, kmart is excellent for this system, all we need now is a legit center to close the paint off and maybe a guy like twill to get it and be able break down defenses when things arent going well

i say we are one piece away from being a good western conference team, unfortunately we may not have adelman to lead us which will certainly bring us down

0%. Adelman has always been an underdog team`s coach. I can't see him coaching LeBron and Wade.

    I don't see it as 0%.

In fact if RA isn't welcomed back to the Rockets and the Heat offer him the job, no way he turns that down.

I don't think RA wants to be the underdog, he came here with the intention of coaching Tmac and Yao...who should still be in their primes and were superstars when he came here.

The only way I see this not happening is the Rockets want him to stay. I think RA is loyal and would rather stay here...but if the Rockets go in another direction and he wants to still coach...AND Riley wants him to coach that team, I don't see how he says no.

He's a great coach because he likes the challenge of these things.

I think someone like elston turner could coach a Miami team. Although if Adelmen goes, or retires. I bet the rockets give the head job to turner.

He's a players coach. He'd be a nice fit in Miami where LeBron, Wade, and Bosh will get their way.

Damn!!! That mean he'll be back next season. We are about as "underdog" as you can get.

Rick's offense takes a while to learn.

And he's not going to like it when Pat Riley takes over come playoff time ;)

Yeah, the Lakers seems much more likely.

But I'd expect him to stay with the Rockets if he is coaching next year. I don't see how Les wouldn't want to keep him. Not sure why the extension hasn't been offered--might be team policy or something.

If they offer him the job (which is possible since he is one of the best available, if not, the best available), I don't see how he can turn it down.

Dude has been coaching for over 20 years, has a highly impressive resume but no championships. I am pretty sure his goal is to win one. And Miami is probably his best shot.

I'll say it depends on how far Miami gets in the postseason. If they don't make it to the conf finals (maybe even finals), Spo is probably let go and Miami would probably take a long hard look at Rick.

He may want to take the Heat to take revenge on Phil Jackson's team. But I doubt that he works well with Pat Riley. It's Rick the Ruler against Pat the Dictator.

Adelman coaching for Riley would go over as well as Rommel working for Hitler again.

OK, Rommel didn't wear a monocle...but you get the picture. Master Strategists don't like to be told to do stupid things.
