Things you WISH the cops would pull people over for?

Come to the UofA. Cars are literally backed up for long stretches because bikes will fly by the stop signs. It is downright dangerous out here. I am stunned no one has died in the time I've been here...

 

People that get right up on my tail at a stop sign or stop light. I mean geez, are you really that concerned that leaving a few feet between you and I is going to let someone cut in there?

That is how a lot of accidents happen. Wish people would give space between vehicles.

 

I believe that is correct, but I've also learned that you're supposed to always defer to the car to your left if you get to a stop sign at the same time. If both cars are approaching from opposite directions however, I BELIEVE the car going straight has the right of way since they are technically "on their road." I very well could be mistaken though. I don't have a problem with someone deferring to me, and vice versa, when we both get to the sign at the same time, though. That's just being a courteous driver. It's when you CLEARLY beat me there, and STILL don't move that sticks in my craw.

 

You understand that when you do this, you are usually forcing the car that's already IN the lane that you're changing into to hit his brakes, which then causes a chain reaction with the cars behind him, which will probably lead to a rear-end accident a mile and a half down the road. You caused all this mayhem to save an extra 2.5 seconds. I hope you used that time well, and didn't just waste it watching a Rebecca Black video or something.

Geez, do you need a hug?! Maybe you misunderstood what I was trying to say (Or I didn't explain myself well enough) but I usually just do this later at night. I don't actually switch lanes so your entire scenario is irrelevant but I want the option to get out of my lane if I need to.

When I say later at night I mean coming home from wherever with the wife when there are suspect people running amok. I don't do this in rush hour traffic.

it's full of old asian women driving expensive vehicles, racking up traffic violations

 

This pisses me off in one of those Left Turn Lanes that seems to have a weight sensor.
Because Joe Jerk in front of me is not on the sensor . . . .we wait 3 light changes before he realizes it.

Oh, and cops that speed and drive recklessly.

 

One time I went around a guy sitting in a turn lane trying to get back over into a packed main lane... I got the ticket for passing in the median.

 

Cars with smokey exhausts.

 

Extremely loud motorcycles.

 

I hate it when I flip my cigarette butt out the window and I look behind me and some self-righteous ******* is sobbing because of it.

 

Oh it has probably been mentioned but tow truck drivers driving recklessly just so they could get to a wreck first.

 

driving too slow. (oh and 24" wheels on caprices and spinners... they should be illegal)

 

Yeah, there is a need. It's called "THE LAW". Cyclists can't cry about "We deserve to be on the road. Watch out for us. Give bikes the right" etc. etc. and then flagrantly ignore the law.

Tough. Don't like it? Get a different vehicle. You don't get to ignore the law just because it's inconvenient.

 

I'm not a self righteous ******* but I do think you should have some respect and not litter each roadway and intersection with your smoldering piece of trash!
