people these days starting to get into the electronica genre, and they think deadmau5 is the epitome of it lol
I wasn't there last year but I've seen Muse 3 times and I can say they put on a damn good show. Their last album wasn't too great, but everything from it sounds much better live. Honestly if they weren't so popular I don't think people would be calling them "terrible". At least not their live show (also I love the second and third albums, and like the fourth a lot too. First and newest are kinda meh but have their highlights and like I said a lot of the songs sound much better live, the live versions usually have way more energy) But as far as KoL, I didn't like any of their last 3 albums and they seem like huge douchebags who have let the fame get to their head. They used to be good southern rock but now they are this alt rock/pop ****. Would not see them I saw him at Voodoo. Really enjoyed the first 2/3 or so, he threw out some awesome stuff (I disagree that his stuff blows. Maybe some of it but he has some good stuff). But the last 1/3rd or so was really lame, like he had used up all his good stuff. He kept setting up for big drops but then they wouldn't come. But I certainly wouldn't say he's bad or anything and I'd see him again (his stage set-up is really cool). I mean I'm not huge into EDM or anything (though im finding more and more) so maybe there is much better stuff I haven't discovered, but I think a lot of the hate again stems from how popular hes gotten in the past year or two.
I don't know how KoL have become aside from musically. Because of the Times was a good album as was Youth and Young Manhood. I didn't care much for the one in between those. Depending on who's playing with them, I may check them out. It does seem like more dance artists than anything as I'm looking some of these up.
Muse has always been one of the best live bands there is. Bellamy is a god on guitar as well. Big fan of their earlier albums, didn't care too much for the last one, even though I thought it was musically sound, the first two singles were way too radio-friendly.
Theres really only 3 songs I really hate on the new album, those being "Undisclosed Desires", "Guiding Light", and "I Belong to You". Take those 3 out and I think I'd actually like it a lot. Though theres also no truly fantastic songs on it that I'd put up their with their best, but theres some good ones. I love Absolution beginning to end, one of my favorite albums, and Origin of Symmetry is really good too (though a lot of the OoS songs sound so much better live than on record that I dont like listening to the album versions). Their fourth album has some really amazing songs (Knights, MotP) and also some really bad songs. I'm a really huge fan though, so I analyze this stuff way too much. Their live album, HAARP, is what got me into them. Its fantastic. And so is their earlier live album, Hullabaloo.
joel zimmerman is smarter than you. any word on chances of other death from above 1979 tour dates, or is this a one shot reunion? can't imagine sebastian sitting down and working on new material.... can i?
Yeah what the hell? They didn't sell out so quick last year. I keep wondering if they are going to release more.
Looks like the wristbands have shipped. Only one way to describe how I feel right now. Spoiler <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/D7KSkZxt_zo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Its not as good as last year's in my opinion, but I am psyched to see Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Ratatat, Phantogram and some others.
