You have some Major bad luck.. I've had only 1 ticket in the past 15 years and I drive like a bat out of Hell. I might be extremely ass lucky because my average is 80-85 on the freeways, and well above average in city driving. I haven't had a front license plate since I drove one of my cars (10+ years) I've had broken tail lights and had an expired tag for over ONE year.. Yes ONE year (Tough times that year) I drive all the time everyday , Sugarland,Stafford, Meadows,1464,Westheimer,Galleria,Memorial,ChinaTown,KoreaTown,DownTown,MidTown,UH,Montrose,Galveston, ETC.... I drive everywhere... You just have bad luck....
Haha, as a Sugar Land resident I can totally see where you're coming from. The line about chain restaurants in particular. I live near the Olive Garden off 59 near Sweetwater, and that place is always packed at pretty much all hours. I don't understand it. It's pretty funny though.
Years ago, I once got pulled over twice in one day for no license plates. Damn Sugar Land. This armed robbery news is terrifying, I have young cousins that live on that street.
The police must love minorities because they pretty much leave me alone in Texas, and I've been driving Houston and Dallas and their surrounding burbs for about 25 years...
I am a retail store manager that up until last November worked in First Colony Mall. I was there about 2 years and let me tell ya, the area is quickly becoming the next Greenspoint. Shoplifting in that mall is out of control....some of the worst I've seen in 20 years in retail and I've been in some crappy malls in Houston. In addition, there have been 3 shootings in or around that mall in the past 18 months. I am so happy to be outta there...
Nothing else to blame but the deterioration of the living conditions of US of A. Or the plunge of modern Rome.
Or maybe the down fall of west oaks. I guess banning buses is not enough. Maybe time to put a wall around it.
These jerkoff cops just set up patrols as excuses to pull over everyone going even a mile above the speed limit or turning without signalling. There were at least 4 people pulled over at the same time yesterday.
I think crime in Sugar Land city limits is overblown. Notice I'm using the term city limits. Due to the postal service, many neighborhoods in Fort Bend County bordering Houston have been assigned Sugar Land addresses. I'm not saying crime doesn't occur in Telfair or First Colony, etc., I just think the media uses Sugar Land liberally as a geographic reference which is unfair to the city and police who have no authority to control Houston crime creep in neighborhoods like Townewest. The city and police are responsive to its citizens. Sometimes its worth paying city taxes. I would never live in an unincorporated area.
Beg to differ. I haven't had any such luck and i've only been driving Houston and Dallas and their surrounding burbs for 11/12 years.
Police and thieves don't bother me much in the Sugar Land area.. It's the old retired white guys that are the ones to watch out for.. They'll fight anybody for some reason...
Maybe where you live, pal, but I'm getting an In-N-Out and a Smashburger near where I live... life's damn good up here!
I noticed a white/Hispanic male trying to pull a fast one on us by asking me if my parents were home and he needed to do inspection. Been getting alot of this lately in the area. Be on a lookout for a 95ish red civic with modified tail lights.
http://ultimatefortbend.com/stories/249498-burglars-hit-several-cars-in-sugar-land-in-one-day <-- My car was one of them... POS Sugar Land cops are worthless. Same neighborhood 4 times in the past few months...
