I would say go with a PS3. Most games come out for both and the few exclusives that do come out are better for the PS3. I played COD all the time a couple of months ago and had no issues with it. As for good original games, there do seem to be more on PS3 with LBP, Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian. You really can't go wrong with either. I just prefer the games on the Playstation.
One of my best friends is a COD fanatic on his PS3. FWIW, I've never not once heard him mention anything in regard to poor service via PS3. I'd agree. I'd really like to play Fable, but that's the only XBox exclusive I can think of that excites me. Gears of War looks awesome, too. PS3 = God of War, Ico/Colossus/Last Guardian, KillZone, and others I can't think of. Isn't the Uncharted series a PS3 exclusive? (Edit: yes, it is PS3 only) If so, then that one, too. I'm not bashing XBox or MS at all....but their lineup is less appealing to me by quite a large margin. Then again, I have no interest in online gaming. If I did, maybe I'd be more inclined to XBox.
Take a break from Interpol and just put her video on in the background while you do other things. Cliff's Notes? She love game long time.
The big gamechanger between Xbox and PS3 for me is Halo... It'sthe utimate exclusive that never gets old. You really don't need another game.
