There are two problems with your argument. First, I don't think clippy ever said "if the Heat don't shatter records, I will admit I'm a fanboi." You did make a promise to do something very specific if the Cavs missed the playoffs. Second, I'm not sure clippy said that the Heat would shatter records this year. Maybe they come together next year and they do. They certainly haven't been eliminated from the playoffs yet, so they could still start a "4-peat" this season. Even if that doesn't happen this year, we couldn't be sure for years to come that it didn't happen. You made a very specific bet about what would happen with the Cavs this year.
I made the promise to clippy...not to you. Now if Clippy doesn't even stand by his own promises of "the Heat will shatter records" why should I even accept his claims for a bet? Because one was a bet and the other wasn't. He didn't bet anything about the Heat breaking records, and as unlikely as the 4-peat is, it's hardly been eliminated. You guys made a bet. Honor it. It doesn't matter at all what else he was posting about. You've really got no legs to stand on.

You guys are confusing this with losing the bet money. I'd happily contribute, I made a "REAL" bet that the Heat wouldn't win 64 games that will pay great money next month. My problem is little girls like Clippy that wants to cash in on one thing he said and wuss out on the other things he said. You can't pick and choose which of your posts are "real" and which ones aren't. 1. Clippy said he would take the bet 2. Clippy said the Heat would "shatter records" 3. Nowhere near as much. You make a bet you honor it. If you just post what you think'll happen and you can shrug it off. Renege on a bet, you better be ready to take crap for it for years. this is their first year together. i'm sure by next year or their 3rd year, they'll start "shattering" some records and will starting winning championships. you see how tough it is for superstars in their primes to come together (amare/melo). bron/wade/bosh all have had to adjust their games tremendously b/c 2 of them play a very similar game. and they have a lot of weaknesses in their lineup and yet they are still a top 5 team in the entire L.

If you haven't seen what clippy promised us earlier. It is no longer mathematically possible for the Cryami Heat to shatter any records so that is obviously wrong. If clippy wants to dodge and say the Heat still have a chance to 4-peat winning the title easily this year, we can have another crow eating session after the Heat flame out. If I'm held to my prediction that the Cavs would make the Playoffs, clippy has to be held accountable to the Lebron fanboi club.

You made a bet, and you are welshing out on it. You obviously had no intention of every paying up and probably don't even have a means to pay. It doesn't affect me one bit as the bet was for the site. It does, however, make you a lying sack of ****. Pay your bet, don't pay your bet, whatever.. you've already shown your true colors. I've been wrong about a bunch of predictions. I thought the Heat would have the best record in the league. I thought the Cavs would win 25 games. I thought the Lakers would have the best record in the West. It is OK to be wrong. Most people on sports boards are wrong, and that is what allows debate to exist. I have even been wrong about predictions I've bet on. But I've never welshed on those bets. So that's the difference.

Are you seriously this obtuse? You do understand the difference between a bet and a prediction, right? If I say "the Heat will win the title" and they don't, I am wrong. If I say "the bet you $100 the Heat will win the title" and they don't, I am wrong, and I owe you $100. I don't have any control over whether they win the title or not but I do have control over the $100. We were both wrong about various predictions (as is pretty much everyone who has ever posted on this site), but you are the one backing out of your bet. If you will only bet with people who are always 100% right, then you will never win. Anyway, I'm done with this. You've revealed who you are. Enjoy your life.
