http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_...ns-wade-falls-asleep-on-d?xid=cnnbin&hpt=Sbin damn, he's not even on the celtics. apparently, the celtics know they can beat the heat, and i don't blame them.
How many times did Wade stop Kobe in their last game? In clutch time. I don't think Perkins watched that game.
Maybe you misread what he said... Perkins says Wade is good at guarding on-the ball (as in Kobe Bryant), but not so good defending people moving without the ball, which Ray Allen specializes in.
In a 7 game series, I don't know how long Wade will last trying to guard Allen and maybe Rondo as well.
I definitely can see that. KG is still a great defender and he works best when he's going against rangy thinner PF's who don't venture into the paint often. What he did to Rashard Lewis for an entire series during last year's playoffs was a phenomenal defensive effort.
Bosh is a top 5 pf in the league right now, the way he is playing. Garnett doesn't have the legs for a 7 game series. There is a reason the Celtics have one the worst back to back losing records in the NBA this season, its because they are a old team.
bosh did outplay KG pretty bad in the 3rd game of the series this year. if wade can somehow plays near his normal self, the heat can beat the celtics.
Despite Octy's zealous, almost goodbug-like worship of the Heat, he is correct. The Celts are particularly bad when the back end is on the road; they're 3-8 this season in such games.
That has no bearing on the playoffs though, where there are no back-to-back games, and a few 2-days rest periods. Look, I don't like the Celtics, and I really am annoyed by KG, but I'd bet on KG playing better than Bosh. I'd just hope for the opposite.
A gruelling 7 game series will wear out the Celtics, as playoff games are much more intense. I think the Heat have a great shot against the Celtics, and the only team I worry about are the Bulls in the East right now.
I understand Ray Allen, KG, and Rondo thinking this. But if Paul Pierce still feels he has a matchup advantage after the beat down Lebron gave him last year (he shot 29-84, 34.5%), then he's delusional. I agree with what Perkins said about Wade. That's why I think Wade should be guarding Rondo and Chalmers should take Allen.
There are no back-to-backs in the playoffs. There will be at least one day (sometimes 2 or 3) between games. This will be a lifeline to a team like the Celtics. If they don't have further injuries, the Celts probably won't get worn down until the Finals (if they make it that far).
Every team steps up in the playoffs, but no one does it like the Celtics. Watching the second half of the Knicks game yesterday, KG completely shut down Amare and when he dived from halfcourt it got me up off my seat. Haven't seen that at all this season.
