I know you were shaking in your boots when Adelman left you in during the fourth quarter, but good job anyways.
My guess is you have to ask Yao Ming. If somebody put a dog inside Pat, Yao probably took him to that restaurant.
I can't decide whether I am offended or find this hilarious. Well played, good sir, well played! This makes me think back to that T-Mobile commercial. "Eat the head!"
Cxbby, I'm sorry to inform you I'm happily married with 4 kids and I dont do the male-male thing. I'm pretty sure you would love to trade places with me or be like me, but it aint happening. I've never put a poster on ignore and wont start with you. I dont know whether to laugh or shake my head in disbelief about how one man/woman could have a stranger on the brain as much as you.Can you post or create a thread without thinking about me?
Lee, my friend, no need to get so defensive. You made a bad call. Let Cxbby have some fun with it. Honestly, I STILL can't believe you tried to put that label on PPatt. It just struck me as ignorant and otherwise atypical of your usually cogent opinions (which, while I do not to agree with many of them, I do respect). I look forward to reading your posts in the future, not agreeing with most of the things you write, but at least not seeing any "WAYYY out on a limb" opinions like that one that just make an otherwise great poster look dumb.
He's just giving you a little ribbing. Don't be so defensive. It was a bad call. I am sure everybody here has taken their fair share of ribbing from other sports fans, friends, and coworkers, bbs posters, too. No one is going to be unscathed 100% of the time, unless they just nod their head and have no opinion of their own. It will be all right.
I like Patterson in the 4th quarter over Scola. He provides more defense, shot-blocking, and hustle than Scola. 3 consecutive double-doubles is icing on the cake. It's always fun to see him rise above the rim and slam one down or to block a shot.
Maybe word choice wasnt right, so let me explain this. I think and said when drafted patterson was the right choice and would be a solid players for years to come. I also said his own self limitations is the only thing that can hold back his physical talent. His attitude and mindset is the same thing that held shane battier back from being a better basketball player. To be a great player or even an all star caliber player in the nba, its more than physical domination, its mental. Patterson, even early on projects the mindset of just fitting in vs standing out. If we look at a young guy like sam cassell when he came in, he had the mindset that he belonged and he had a star mentality before he became a star. From his fsu days to his rocket days, he showed he more than belonged. I can even look at a guy like landry. He came back after his rookie year with a better jumper. Then when he came back the next year, he elevated himself into the rockets 4th quarter guy. He was top 2 or 3 in the 4th quarter because of his mentality as much as his physicality. This is the attitude I wish Patterson had, but I don't think thats him. Its not the end of the world and if this team is upgraded from a talent standpoint, thats cool. I just hope 3 years from now we're not saying stuff like he's too unselfish or we wish he had the attitude of player x. Rodney Mccray was that guy who would show flashes like he could be a top 5 sf in the day when the sf posistion, but he didnt have the temprement to go along with his physical tools.
