When are they coming out with the Hymns game? The family that jams together loses sleep. I've never played but my son who plays guitar (edit-all my kids play guitar) told me he could absolutely rip on the Rock Band game. (he can rip on his 'strat also )
Ok, I finally got around to making a youtube video. I'm not in a band anymore. At the time, my bandmates were in need of someone with a lot more experience than I had, being someone who had just begun learning how to play.... from a VIDEO GAME. They found someone waaaaay better than me so I respectfully bowed out. BTW, they're rising up in the DC music scene. I just saw them play last week at Velvet Lounge, which tends to book some pretty decent acts. Since then I've been slowly getting better. This is sort of a warm-up version of Joker and the Thief that I recorded on my Roland electronic kit. I'm going to practice a bit more and record another video on my acoustic kit. I will post when it's done. I recorded the track minus the drums in practice mode of Rock Band. Saved it as a 24 bit wav file and played along on the Roland. I'm not using any visual ques, I've pretty much memorized it. I just need a little more practice to tighten up the fills. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F1fAn2Vbl5E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Proof-positive that these games are indeed good for music: they introduce people to actual, good music as well as encourage and teach people to play. Good for you, man. Your playing isn't bad at all.
