Just to tie this in with another thread this is why Houston shouldn't have an NHL team. Houston is a city with a basketball tradition. The only championships this city has won has been in basketball but we still have trouble filling our arena. Imagine adding another major league sport where there isn't much of a tradition and you will just get more half filled events with a blase fan base.
Wasn't there talk of the Nashville Predators heading to Houston a while back? The Texans only have 8 home games a year. If the Rockets only had 8 games a season they would probably sell out as well. The talent is there for the Texans but they play in a tough division and have a poor defense. Their season seemed to unravel after David Garrard's miracle Hail Mary in Jacksonville. The percentage sounds about right for where we are now. Although I am surprised the Clippers have a better attendance than Houston.
our attendance was pretty mediocre with tmac and yao. the arena is only packed when we have winning streaks or rolling near the playoffs.
I think Rocket fans are some of the smartest in the league. Present company excluded of course. You seem to be a racist. I guess all white people are rich and fat just like a hsipanics either wash cars or roof houses or how all black people look alike and can jump high?
TROOF. WHITE PEOPLE TO THE BACK OF THE BUS. YO DAUGHTERS IN DA FRONT WIF US WE BE PARYTING. SOUL PLANE.
You referred to a Red Rowdy as an icon. The whole post was just sad and desperate. I'm sure you'll be sleeping in her bushes soon
you are overthinking it and this is the internet. really bad spelling can get annoying but your nordic precision is coming out. It's a language not a rule book. The dutch (yeah I know you are German not dutch and not 1 millionth as annoying as Jovi was) are also very tough, and I was corrected one time for saying 'bradley smells badly' ..apparently that's not correct. The dutch guy didn't even crack a smile either. I would like to know about german comedy it seems like it might be some serious s***
EVerytime I compliment a female I want to sex them. Get your mind out the gutter. Your making a lame attempt to defame me because you felt insecure about yourself. What I said is genuine unlike your cool bad ass assumption. Im desperate? b**** please, I can haz any top notch model If I wanted to.
i'd argue that you're only look at the amount of ppl who attend. the rockets have a 89.4% attendance which is higher than the wizards, raptors, pistons. If i have a restaurant that seats 20 ppl and i have 18 eating at all times vs. a restaurant with 22 seats and 19 ppl eating at all times, i wouldn't argue that our fans suck...
man....i went off on a tanget....what i meant to say was, i wouldn't argue that the 2nd restaurant had a better attendance or crowd than the first restaurant.
Do they discount ticket prices at the door, say if you attend late and get there at the half? They should totally do this with the empty seats.
If the rockets games are available in local channels like in Chicago, I'd go more often. But no thanks Les.
Wow you must be a 99er or older...keeping your former name a secret? That one made me curious...very few people remember Jovi.
does. not. compute. 1. The Rockets' titles were 16 years ago. They have very little effect on sales of 2011 tickets, particularly since the Rockets have done very little in the playoffs since then. For all that, they've still sold 90% of their tickets this season so far. http://espn.go.com/nba/attendance/_/sort/homePct 2. The Texans have zero history of success here...they have zero rings. The Oilers had zero rings in the NFL. They failed to even make an AFC Championship game after the merger. Yet, there's a waiting list for season tickets for them. The idea that lack of history/tradition means lack of interest just doesn't work. 3. Sports fans in the Sun Belt are fickle, generally. But there are very few franchises in any sport...in any league..in any city...that draw fans regardless of how the team is doing on the field/court/ice around the time you're asking them to buy those seats.
