Thompson's coming back to complete the three-headed Canadian monster... MOST EXCELLENT! If Barnes is able to land DeAndre Daniels, it's game over. I wonder if he'd go with a 3-guard set a la Nova (assuming Ham goes pro)... Kabongo J'Covan Joseph Daniels Thompson http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/tournament/2011/news/story?id=6236917
The article suggests that Hamilton's returning, but I'm not buying it for a second. He's had his sights set on the NBA since his senior year of HS... I saw him do an interview with Brandon Jennings and the two were boasting about how they'd be playing together the following year. Jennings looked right in to the camera with his arms around Hamilton, and yelled "One and done!" I'll be shocked if he returns, but if he does, Texas is likely a preseason top-3 and Ham's definitely going to be a Wooden candidate.
I go to UT and work as a ball boy during the games and help the UT team practice in the afternoons during the regular season. Hamilton loves playing with TT and said that he wants to go to the NBA, but only if he is a lottery pick. He would rather play next year with TT for a champ and leave in Junior year rather than play for a playoff team that will prob cause him to ride the bench. This was back in January before the Big 12 Tourny so he might have changed his mind.
I'd wait until the end of the tournament before thinking both are staying; a lot of players say that they are coming back and then re-consider later.
They will have an excellent team even if Jham leaves, but if he does stay wow. That would be ridiculous
Money makes people do crazy things (...Avery Bradley), and the fact that he's already seriously considering his future in the NBA leads me to believe that he'll eventually declare. ESPN's Chad Ford has him ranked as the #17 overall prospect, and lists him as a "lottery to mid first round" selection. I genuinely believe Tristan Thompson due to the Kabongo situation, but I just can't see Hamilton coming back to school when his name is already being tossed around in the lottery discussion.
If there is any truth behind that, then he will want to leave this year. Next years draft is projected to be loaded, is going to be really hard for an upper class men to make the lottery.
pretty much justified what I've been saying all along -- UT-Austin branch has been very overrated this year.
Tough way to go out. Brown played his ass off in the 2nd half... Derrick Williams came up clutch. Hopefully Kabongo will be the answer.
I would like to see a stop clock of the 5 second call. I am thinking a make up call for not calling the foul on the earlier shot. Not sure why the UT player called the timeout when he got the rebound.
This showed that Tristan has some work to do. Hopefully we get to see what an offseason of Todd Wright + an elite PG does for him.
