Bobby Simmons never recovered from winning that award.

Stupid. He threw the ball at the official, was clearly ticked off by the call and wanted to make a point of giving the ball back to that same official. Got what he deserved. AB is in a downward spiral and needs to pull it together.

Great job of Morey getting rid of him at just the right time.

I love what he did for us last year, but the sentiment above is perfectly said. Poor AB, his career looks like it has peaked and now he's coming down with a huge thud, and now will strictly be an end of the bench kind of guy.

I'm still curious how much his injury at the beginning of the year is still affecting him. He doesn't look like he has fully recovered his speed/quicks yet, he was a different guy last year. He can't beat guys off the dribble nor can he create separation from bigs like last year, he always could make the space to get his layups off when being followed by a big, but right now he isn't doing what we know he is capable of.

The "curse" in this case didn't happen until Simmons signed the large contract with the Bucks.

Man oh man. Brooks deserved to be traded for the way he brought down our team with his poor attitude but this is just straight up sad. Com'on Brooks! Get it together man, don't go out like this!

That being said, if I was morey, now that Brooks is becoming undervalued again, I would think about signing him cheap and bring him back to the fold. As long as he knows Lowry is the captain and commader of the Rockets' ship.

Wow, I don't think it was that bad, but I can definitely understand him being suspended for that. That sucks for him. But yeah, here's hoping he puts it together.

that was the big problem he never accepted that nor do i think he'll accept a minor role on any team right he wants to play significant minutes and produce regardless of what it means to the teams success. personally i do not want to see aaron brooks back anytime soon (or at all for that matter) in a rockets uniform.

I think he'll land on a team where he'll produce again given starters minutes and full reign but that team will not be going anywhere in terms of playoffs etc. Brooks always struck me as a player who is only happy as long as he gets 'his' not necessarily when the team wins...he is obviously happier when both team wins and he gets his but getting his is first and foremost on his mind

I'm not sure about "right time" -- I'd say more like it was the last opportunity they could do it and they got what they could (and I like Dragic). In my opinion, the Rockets sold low on Brooks, but really had no choice. They could have gotten a lot more 4 months before. Let's see what the draft pick ultimately ends up to be.

    This.

It saddens me that Brooks seems hell bent on destroying his career. You can't behave this way in a contract year. He could literally find himself playing overseas next season.

And he can't use this "I've never really been injured like this before" excuse. That's called facing adversity. And how you face adversity says a lot about you. Nobody wants to throw big bucks at a guy who shrinks, sulks and throws tantrums at the very first obstacle he comes across.

I really hope he pulls himself together and redeems himself somehow. After he walked out on the Rockets, I was glad to see him moved to another team - but I'd still like to see him have a successful career in the NBA.

Poor choice of words. By right time I meant trading him before the deadline and getting something legit in return.

If that's a one game suspension then what is this in modern day?

They held on to him as long as they did because they thought he would need to be included in a trade for a superstar.

    I don't really blame them.

Clutch, I don't know if you are referring to an actual rumored deal that was on the table, but what do you think we could have gotten for AB 4 months before the trade? Just curious as I thought Morey was trying to get Gortat instead of Dragic.

Selling high on brooks would have to mean trading him last offseason because that's when his trad value was so high. no one expected him to get injured and his value to drop so fast after retuning. most expected him to make a full recovery and almost 100%. could we have traded an injured player (which im not sure if you can)?

AB + Ariza would be enough to get Gortat at that time, I believe.

AB is mentally weak. Easily frustrated.

Buried behind Lowry led to poor play.
