Shane keeps getting less and less playing time every game. He will struggle to get signed anywhere after this season.

I made a video on how I felt about Battier months before the trade was done. I got tired of all my friends talking about the great intangibles he brought to the table. Sure it was great when Stacy Mcgrily and Yao were healthy but now that there gone, this trade was way over due. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuZJEULAqPk

I guarantee you the Lakers, Celtics and Miami will be interested, as well as many others.

I promise you in any of those teams he will not play more than 20 minutes not even 15 mins and not get close to 5 million a year.

You're not really going out on a limb by saying that.

You're NOT going out on a limb. He'd be 33 starting the season. Role players won't get a bigger contract or something similar at that point. Maybe at 30, not 33. Those teams already have an established rotation with solid swing players, so they won't have to pay him a starting salary. He may start or not, but he won't get starter's minutes.

So Memphis keeps winning without Rudy Gay and with Tony Allen playing extending mins. Z-Bo has definitely been carrying the Griz, but Tony Allen is showing those of you who make it your job to be an apologist for Shane Battier what a role player can do when he's given the opportunity to have an expanded role on the team. There's a reason Tony Allen starts and plays more mpg than Battier. All of those people who criticized me when I compared Tony Allen to Shane Battier look silly now, because Allen is demonstrating that he's actually a better basketball player than Battier will ever be. Allen, despite suffering a major injury in his career, has shown more improvement since Rudy Gay went down than Shane Battier has shown his entire career...and guess what? Allen didn't cost anyone a lottery pick and he gets paid less than Battier. Now that Shane Battier is watching a guy like Tony Allen show what it's like to provide tangible production while giving intangible contributions simultaneously, will he learn from Allen...will he improve his game? I may be wrong, but I doubt it. The RV6s, Larsv8s, and Carl Herreras are probably in a state of shock. Let the excuses and justifications for "Uncle" Battier's mediocrity begin...

Dang, Battier has a +10.2 +/- since joining the Grizzlies. No wonder they've been playing so well. Clearly, his leadership and winningness has rubbed off on the kids.

In shock? More like laughing my a$$ off

“Last year, we would have put our head down and let the game slip away,” Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph said. “This year, we battle it out. We have more of a defensive mindset to get stops.”

The mindset comes from adding more veterans to roster, starting with Tony Allen in the preseason, and Shane Battier, Leon Powe and Jason Williams (though he been sidelined lately with a bad back) in the last month.

“To have veterans who have been there like Tony, Leon, Shane and J-Will helps,” Hollins said. “Those guys have been there. They understand what it takes to keep poised. Even if your young guys get rattled, we have veterans telling them, ‘Get your head back in it, don’t worry about it, do this and do that.’ Those are the type of things that keep your club solid.”

Technically, Battier has helped lead the Grizz into the playoffs. That has to be eating up Kwame inside. If that wasn't enough of a fail, he's practically having a conversation with himself in this thread.
