3 mil.... 4 mil max 4 years contract team option on the 4th year.

thats double his previous contract... a pretty good pay raise for someone with limited skills and playing on a team loaded with power forwards.

With inflation it turns out to be around 5 mil.
I need to see the thread about young defensive centers again, but hayes is worth it for sure.

He's worth about 8M per year. He won't get paid that much. They'll try to get him for 4M.

I love the Rockets. I like Chuck so maybe this is our problem. It looks like we love mediocrity....with heart.

If Moochie Norris (who was a bench player) was able to grab a 4-5 year for 20 million dollar contract, I'm sure Chuck (who actually starts) will grab something in that neighborhood as well. I think 4+ million a year is a fair contract. The guy has improved his offense which was his biggest flaw, he's improved his free throw shooting and his defense is great. If we can land a legit center, he'll be a great weapon to have off the bench to play both PF and C when we need to shut down the other team's star big player. Plus, with our luck, our future C or PF will end up getting hurt and he'll find a way back into the starting line up again in the future.

Not only that, he's been a true leader for a team that's been through a lot and he plays his heart out every single night. He's the true lock down defender we all thought Battier was.

    1. Chuckwagon is not about mediocrity, he's about winning. Ask the Sheen.

    2. The only reason Moochie Norris got that stupid contract was because his buddy Stevie power played the Rockets into giving him that. Do not ever compare Moochie who was a one trick pony scrub who turned into his true paycheck collecting nature after he got his contract to Chuck who epitomizes what Rockets basketball is about. Moochie would not even get an invite to training camp if Morey and Adelman were in charge back then.

In short, Moochie was a turd of a player while Chuck is about winning.

Why are we talking about Chuckwagon contracts? Its not like it would break us either way. Nor should it since we are still looking for height as his position anyways. No matter how good he plays we are looking for height still unless he sprouts Hakeem like basketball skills in his frame.

Well thats cuz Chuck is a PF... If we ever get a Center Chuck will be beasting it up on D rotating in on the 4 and 5 throughout the game as a backup, but getting starter minutes. If he actually was able to guard his natural position he would be 2nd team all defense.
